It looks like part of front half side of the 055 superstructure. But the radar looks around the size used by 052C or D.

China should really stop wasting any more money on amphibious landing ships . They ain't going to get across the taiwan strait. Most likely they will get sunk before getting there.

Instead, it should purchase the Typhoon Class sub from Russia and get rid of its ballistic tubes and other stuffs inside and convert into a troop and armory transporting vehicle across Taiwan strait in Stealth Mode.

Or it can construct Subs of such size for troop transport. 48,000 tons
Get rid LPD and build Mega subs.

How does the benefits of the IEP compare to that of a nuclear propulsion for future ship design? Which is better at reducing noise and at powering future systems like railgun and laser technology?

The time for a war about Taiwan has long past. A nuclear powered submarine can carry troops and armour to any coast in the World but I don't see how it would be able to land said troops and armour conveniently. And those subs would be extremely expensive.

Aircraft carriers are an antiquated and increasingly obsolescent weapons system. Cheap, expendable, modular, mobile floating airfields are gonna be the way of the future. Hope China builds that floating airfield/dock quickly and start experimenting with it as a carrier replacement ASAP.

Hmm no.. not even close. That would be a very naive way to look at things. While MOBs certainly has it's uses, replacing an aircraft carrier is not one of them. The primary advantage of a carrier is speed. A CSG can be anywhere in the world within 12 hours. With today's carriers, the hull speed is in excess of 30+ knots. much much more actually but true max v is 'classified'.

A modular MOB is going to take a week to construct at the very least by which time it may be all over!
It's also much more susceptible to attacks than a carrier whose location would be classified. It's difficult to hide the location of a MOB even if done in secrecy especially during times of a major conflict.
That's just one of 10 reasons I can think off which makes the carrier still a viable asset in the forseeable future.

Regardless, no matter the advancement is technology there will always be a 'mother' ship carrying smaller crafts for strike/attack roles.. That concept of a 'carrier' will be around for a long while IMHO.

I think you're being a bit unimaginative with your outlook. The key is modularity. There can be dedicated engine ships built to push multiple airstrip/dock modules around at high speeds when long distance travel is called for. I'm not discarding the concept of the carrier, I'm merely imagining its future form.

which again defeats the purpose of having a MOP in the first place. If you need multiple 'pushers' than just build a carrier that can go anywhere anytime it pleases. LOL. Like I said I don't think the concept is incorrect I'm just saying a mobile platform CANNOT replace a carrier.
