What space projects is 611 Institute undertaking? One might have had a first flight in 2017.

Hi all, this is my first post here.

Have been following this forum for quite some time and have learnt much from all the posts.

I like asking questions and hope that it'll be welcome or at least tolerated here.

Regarding the recent Divine Eagle posts at the UAV/UCAV sthread, if similar UAVs or other radar/sensor observation platforms become commonplace at heights higher than (hence looking downwards) the operational heights of F22 then will they start carrying Lundberg lens at the topside in addition to the one commonly seen at their underbelly side?
Also can we take their not carrying them now to suggest that no major countries are currently operating such monitoring assets?

Then again it is indeed curious that the F35 carries radar enhancers at their topside BUT NOT the F22. Or just that such pictures aren't made public.

Just realised I can't edit previous posts.

The below is the radar enhancers of the F35 I was referring to:

Guns, Doors for Guns, and skins immediately surrounding the gun are subject to heat and severe "staining" from the heat and powder being burnt. Depending on the design, and the amount of unburnt powder and heat, even significant "erosion" may occur? If you note the aircraft immediately above, that skin appears to be titanium or stainless, both good choices!

Exactly. I heard people say PLAAF actually apply silicone-based grease (as coolant or as a protection coating???) on that piece and remove the grease once the jet has landed, every time.

The retired pilot from PLAAF (a well known pilot) provided his opinion (no classified info, so take it with a grain of salt) in this video:
  • At 11:00 he said the new engines mounted on J10 were for testing TVC
  • At 22:00 he said the new engine on J20 can not be WS-10 Taihang. My guess is he might be saying the engines are Russian since WS-15 is still years out
  • At 26:00 he said the stealthy H-20 does not physically exist, yet, meaning the project may exist but no flyable prototypes

Surely not, never ever. The PLAAF was not allowed to get the Tu-22M Backfire - not sure if there were earnest negotiations anyway ? - and the Tu-160 will be even less exportable.

Even more I don't think the PLAAF has no need and no requirement to introduce such an anachronistic heavy-weight bomber, which is simply out of time when XAC and the PLAAF has already their own stealth bomber in the pipeline:

So in short: just forget it.
