Here you go TerraN. Some very nice fire power on the Russian/French Atom IFV

57 mm BM-57 rifled autocannon

The ATOM prototype possesses is a 57 mm BM-57 automatic gun. This rifled autocannon is a modification of the Soviet 57 mm S-60, developed by the company Petrel. This high caliber autocannon has an effective range of 6 km and fires at a rate of 120–140 rds/min. The turret traverses 360° across the azimuth and has an elevation range between −8° and +70°. 80–100 rounds are carried within the turret with an additional 100 stowed away. The 57 mm automatic cannon provides engagement of light armoured and soft targets, ATGM crews, and even aerial targets (UAVs, precision-guided munitions, aircraft and helicopters). It takes 1–3 seconds to change the type of monition for the cannon.

I will now get back to bottling my Malbec

by basing the cannon off an existing gun the IFV rounds are presumably already in the intended End users logistics train. and the Supply chain is easy to get as you can buy rounds from Russia or China presumably Iran, North Korea and a few others. still you would sacrifice magazine capacity for heavy hitting. like comparing Dirty Harry's M29 Smith and wesson 44 to a regular cops 9mm. you might blow there turret clean off but you're only going to have so many shots. now ATOM is in Limbo remember it was a joint between the french and the Russians. Right now France is forced to sanction Russia so this is either on hold or over.

120 rounds per minute is a very good fire rate, it's like Dirty Harrys 44 on semi auto vs a 9mm on full automatic :)

TerraN, can you talk to Santa and see if he can get me one for Christmas? Should I just order one on ebay?

Santa is your best bet as it's a long shot it will ever be produced beyond this. Although now that someone has cooked up a AA gun conversion to a IFV cannon it might be done again.

If vehicles goal is primarily to transport men then it should be armed with heavy machine gun or automatic grenade launchers on a smallish RWS (operated by vehicles commander). As far I see biggest problem with IFV's what have traditional manned turrets is that turrets take a lot of space inside eating away purpose of the vehicle (transporting men).

I'd rather see APC's what are carrying simple RWS armed with machine gun or 40mm grenade launcher so vehicles can support infantry. If something larger is needed PF-98 can be installed on the turret and another plus side with that sort of armament is that all those weapons are used by infantry too.

Something like BattleGuard on top of a simple APC would offer enough firepower for most situations while being able to carry more ammo. Take that large turret from ZBD-08 off and install smaller RWS and you have a very good APC with far more room inside.

That's the Stryker Broccoli. A APC with remote turret however faces issues. It can't support infantry units if they come under fire from similar vehicles. As the HMG rounds lack punch. The aim of a IFV is medium fire support. It combines the function of a infantry tank with a APC. This means not only can it lay down antibunker and some antitank fire it also allows infantry units mobility. Now you are correct manned turrets eat up space on the inside most APCs have a 10-12 man troop complement but when IFV turrets are installed that drops to a 5-7 man complement. However that's with a manned turret. As you pointed out we have today remote weapons stations and all it takes is some scale to get a IFV with a unmanned turret. Now you can have the best of both worlds.
