Here's one fore you Mirage 8x8, 6x6 or 4x4
right now most of the world is going wit 8x8 which allows it to be longer and have more room but I kinda like a 6x6 but not with side hatches they compromise protection.

I’m like you, an 8x8 or a 6x6 are preferable. Six-by-six and eight-by-eight configurations do have other advantages. They are somewhat more robust with regard to mine damage. If one or two tires are destroyed the vehicle can still limp back to base. This would be impossible for a 4 x 4 vehicle.

I still like the idea of a larger auto cannon. However I will revise my original 75mm to say a 60mm auto cannon. It would grind up APCs & IFVs and destroy track and wheels on MBTs. One of these 8x8s would look very nice with a 60mm system and twin ATGMs.

Peace through superior firepower……

I will now get back to bottling my Malbec in 60mm bottles

a auto cannon round costs a fraction of the cost of a missile. a single late model ATGM like a javelin without CLU costs as much as the whole gun of a bushmaster cannon.

TerraN, I guess what I’m looking for is a vehicle that has the ATGM and twin auto cannons like the Russian Terminator (below), but with a an armored turret like German Coelian (far bottom). The Coelian had 55mm auto cannons

not the suspension on that is the the "Schachtellaufwerk" or interleaved road wheel system. this was something I think only the Germans ever tried and showed one of the problems the Germans had in the war. they focused so much on the new and improved that they built and rushed in features with flaws. in this case the problem is the inner wheels damage to those will jam up both sets and getting at them requires removing all the adjacent wheels.

The interleaved wheels had it issues, but it also have its pros.

What the interleaved road wheel does is that it gives the tank a very good ratio of peak ground pressure to average ground pressure; and good travel for the suspension arm. That is why the panther's mobility is considered one of the best during the war, going places where light tanks will sink.

Some other nations had tried it too, abeit more the interweave than the interweave - Russia and France primarily, but nothing came of it. At the end of the day, most nations adopted the Hortzman suspension, or the one used on the Russian KV.

Everything in life has its advantages and disadvantages. In the case of the interweaving chassis. For a combat vehicle it's disadvantages out weight its advantages. Sure you could go places but the complex repairs and logistical support burden were major.

the chassis is based on the Turkish designed FNSS Pars 8x8 it an pack in a 3 man crew with 11 grunts. the gun is the American made ATK Bushmaster M242, same as the current Bradley IFV. amphibious and fairly light weight.

Something of interest is the heavy IFV conversion. Right now the world is replete with Sovet Tanks T55's, T62s,T64's some have been and can be life extended but alot are just sitting in storage rusting. Also rusting are the light weight BMP1 and BMP2 vehicles which in combat have been found wanting as there poorly placed ammo and fuel make them death traps with the well placed shot form a RPG or older ATGM.
Now a few countries have cooked up these

the BTr-T based on the T55
now A though I have been having is could one not take the Turret of an older BMP 1 and BMP 2 and mate them to such? Start with one of these older tanks convert it to a IFV hull and mate a refurbished BMP turret. Presto A IFV with better protection then the BMP1 or 2 and the proven fire power of such. if your a nation with excess stocks of these tanks and IFV's and a moderate Income, it might be a good option.
