APC or IFV

Since the North Koreans are getting so much attention these days I figured I would post a few of there known armor.
First things First North Korean IFV's.... none
Remember And APC is defined as

yes None, There are rumors of a few BMP-1 but no confirmation.

APC's
Many, this is as the North Koreans love the 14.5mm Machine gun.

This is the M1992 A 4x4 Armored vehicle powered by a Diesel engine carries a crew of 2 + 6 infantry believed to be Amphibious armament varies main armament is a 30mm grenade launcher with ATGM another version seems to be a light MLRS with 24 107mm rockets.

this 6x6 vehicle is one of two based on the BTR series imported by the North Koreans from Russia. It's armed with over under 14.5mm HMGs with a 7.62x54mm coax. a crew of 3+6 infantry possibility amphibious. Armor is light the doors on the hull have firing ports.
A direct Clone of the BTR series, but again with the 14.5mm guns and coax crew is 3+7 infantry armor is thin. Amphibious.



VTT323 series based off the Chinese Type 63 Amphibious tank. a crew of 4 + 10 infantry


Dual mounted 14.5mm MG's
the hull is also used for MLRS
82mm mortars,
122mm Self propelled mortar,
Quad 14.5mm Self propelled Anti air guns
Command vehicles
Armored Ambulance
120mm SPH

I wonder how much diesel fuel does the NK have to conduct such extensive armored exercise considering all kinds of sanctions it is going through?

The North Koreans mine and sell Coal to the Chinese right? ( rhetorical They do.)

Yeah but don't they dirty up the filter system more quickly though in a tank or armored combustion engine?

Hard to say, I know in the second World war the German's depended on synthesized fuels from coal to fuel their war machines, They never seemed to have a problem with it then. I mean if the filter is maintained it shouldn't be an issue.

Mind you they do import liquid fuel from China.

They mention Closed Hatch driving which I guess means they want to use a system to allow the crew to see though the hull. Heavy IT interface including power interface for infantry ( guess is 10 men like Stryker)

This is the 50mm EAPS round. ATK's Bushmaster 3 which today is used on the CV90 is spec'ed to 35mm but can be converted to 50mm. for scale this thing is double the size of the gun in the current Bradley in 35mm. It would look like a tank! To develop the 50mm They basically Case telescoped a 50mm projectile into a 35mm case. It has just as much propellant as the 40mm CTA being moved to by the Europeans but is still a bigger shell.

50mm Super shot also has the 50mm EAPS round option which is a system the Army has been looking at for use by Air defence assets to shoot down drones, aircraft and munitions the Extended Area Protection and Survivability munition would be fired from a dual 50mm Bushmaster 3 cannon on a heavy vehicle platform with a radar.


presumably elements of this technology could be integrated into long range AP rounds

looks almost like FCS just 10 tons heavier.
