Turret is like Type 90 or Alkhalid !!! I saw different images of Alzarar in Pakistani forums. It looks like a newer turret is put on T55's chasis .

Armour Slabs !!!!
I thought the turret to be a new one !!!! Its not a very good idea to weld an older turret with extra slabs , it will increase the weight and bring a series of problems !! Adding ERA is a good option.
In other Pakistani forums I saw alzarrars covered with ERA !!

If you ask me i think Pak would have done best to turn the T-59's into ICV's. The Isrealis did it and it provided great protection plus it was cheaper than buying a new ICV. Using a T-59 isn't wise now, RPG could tickle the tank's ammunition to go off.

ArjunMKI, I think that this Al Zarrar is straight out of the factory so that is why there is no ERA on it. The ERA will be put on later. I think that is the only explanation because in some Pakistani army videos, I saw Al Zarrars with ERA on it. To jatt, I am pretty sure that the armor on the Al Zarrar can take RPG hits since it will be covered with ERA. Also ArjunMKI, thanks for that photo of the Al Khalid. I had never seen that pic.
