why did they not buy the more modern platform which ZDK-03 AWACS uses, it looks amazing, the Y8/9 hybrid which basically looks like a Y-9?


instead they went for this old Y-8 design!!

My guess would be a combination of Price and availability since the Y9 is still brand new China might be taking Priority of delivery.

Why is the plane wrapped in white (film?) before delivery. Is this normal and is it not hazardous during flight?
