I thought this is so silly. I had to re-read the sentence as I thought maybe the Captain took the QE for a private cruise over the weekend. It is a problem when bureaucrat focus their time and energy on the "pennies".
Separating business and private use of a company vehicle is a fools errand and a silly policy. It is far simpler to either just package as a complete benefit or not at all. Paperwork and enforcement is just a nightmare for compliance with an in-between policy. There are more important things to do.

This is a bombshell Jura, because its the most ignoramus garbage that could be dreamed up by a petty, narrow minded, ignorant bureaucracy, most ignorant stoopidity!

Wouldn't surprise me if it were the US, with all our ignorant, selfish, self important peon's, however it is the English here... just proves that stoopidity runs rampant with liberals.....

Capt. Nick Cooke-Priest clearly upset someone, I wouldn't be surprised if his sacking was linked to the recent sacking of SecDef Gavin Williamson. I doubt we'll find out anytime soon though, and to be fair when he used the vehicle he paid for the fuel himself.

... to test someone's attitude in dealing with public property?

NO!

Think about this for a moment ACE! the Cap'N was charged with the operation and care of singularly most expensive/complex vehicle in the KINGDOM! Maximum Trust and Responsibility,,, some ignoramus begrudged him the use of the "company" car on weekends....

think about the gazillions low level company hacks who take the company car home every night, hell, I had a company car when I worked for the Hospice!

the amount of money invested in the Captain's very singular skill set, and he was very good at what he does, there's NO doubt about that... someone with a 1/3 of his intelligence and ability pulled this little gem out his or her ass!!!

Maximum Stoopid! maybe it was AOC, her nasty tentacles are long and insidious, certainly it was someone with her IQ! and I would imagine Obi-Wan hit the nail on the head!

Would be my guess that he told someone with the Power, exactly what he thought of the sacking of the Boss, or told someone else more likely, and that little pervert peon ran to tattle.....

I remember reading recently that it cost the USAF $5 million to train a 4th gen pilot and $10 million for a 5th gen. I don't know what it would cost for a sailor to reach the command level of a carrier. It probably would be Godzilla in magnitude. A basic principle of fairness is the punishment befitting the crime. Removing command because of supposedly week end use of a car sounds more like politics and the reason is just a cover.

21 MAY 19 - R08 HMS QE NEARBY R09 POW AS THE QE LEAVES ROSYTH DRY DOCK

The QE is shown having been manoeuvred out of dry dock into Rosyth harbour basin after her 6 week dry docking inspection and cleaning period. As such she is pictured adjacent to the PoW which is berthed there finalising it’s fitting out period prior to sea trials in a few months time.
The QE was immediately moved to the lock for exit into the more open water of the River Forth to await low tide and transit under the 3 Forth Bridges and the open sea. 60796052_10156080691406481_1293941777903910912_n.jpg61443432_10156200679910404_6102963650748743680_o.jpg 61080458_10156200679630404_8101626080646922240_n.jpg
