Those are the same type of 5inch single mounts as used on the Fletcher clas DDs. Odd since the preceding Essex class were already ising the twin 5 inch mounys that replaced them throughout the fleet.

ATLANTIC OCEAN (Feb. 16, 2019) The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) participates in a replenishment-at-sea with the Henry J. Kaiser-class fleet replenishment oiler USNS Leroy Grumman (T-AO 195). Abraham Lincoln is underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 12. The components of CSG-12 embody a team-of-teams concept, combining advanced surface, air and systems assets to create and sustain operational capability. GHWB in the shipyard for 28 months?!! That over half of the time a ship need for a RCOH....Am I missing something about this "planned maintenance." ..curious. there must be some serious upgrades.
