seeing Jeff online, here's the USNI News collections (pictures too) VIDEO: 3 Carriers Now Operating Off the Korean Peninsula with Japanese Ships

I see:

3 x US CVN
2 x Ticonderoga AEGIS CGs
4 x US Burke AEGIS DDGs
1 x JMSDF CVH
2 x JMSDF DDGs

A very powerful group, particularly their principle weapons in the three air wings on the CVNs. Very powerful indeed. Probably upwards of 200 aircraft there, 150+ of them beingstrike aircrft of one sort or another. Hornet, Superhornets, Growlers.

I am looking forward to the day that each one of them has 10-20 F-35Cs on them too.

Well done !!! with aircrafts passing but the number increase  possible to see 12 CGs/DDGs ! normaly a CVN have 4 - 5 for escort and a Japanese Sqn have 4 do the math...

Very nice.

Yes, if each CVN had its full battle group with them, tht is what you would see.

But this is just a photo op.

Usually, except for one CG and perhaps one DDG or FFG at home plate with the carrier, the other escorts are not even in visual range of the carrier.

So the others are probably there, but out on the threat axis making sure those pretty photo ops are safe to take.

And yes the number is almost disapointing for us :( :) full do about two with 5 MSC and one with 4 so with CVNs do 21 ships ! plus about 3 submarines used in general independently around the TF but do their job never name appear only posible to know during a port visit, same for French Navy always ships list with names but not for submarine, normal.

But miss FFGs  waiting and BTW a new page

With 35 VFAs including Reserve + 4 VMFA specialised for CAW so 39 enough to provide easy to some 5 Sqns we can estimate on 11 CVNs a max of 6 deployed possible exist also 14 VAQs ! but 5 are not really for CAW mixed crews USN/USAF in fact replace EF-111 retired and mainly for land bases for increase support to USAF.

Confirmed appear in last view South Korean have joins but Ise have left South Koreans must be about 4 + 6 US + 2 Japanese

I don't know by what means the 'Swiss Carriers' will launch their aircraft, but judging by their history the mechanism will be very small, very accurate, taste a bit chocolatey and be paid for by Nazi Gold... Rumours that said mechanism is being tested by a company known only for Cuckoo clocks cannot be confirmed at this time!

Back to normality, It is a truly breathtaking sight to see three CVNs operating together for the first time in a decade, considering the normal cycle of USN carrier operations means only three to four are ever forward deployed worldwide at any given time (using the three ships for every one 'on the line' rule).
