Now sure a problem definitely known after not also important as one other CVN have recently about 12 or more months of delays but confirm 11 CVNs is a more comfortable number.

Landing a Chinnok on a naval platform is not a easy job it's a big heavy helo with lots of downwash which blows things away even on the deck of the ship they have to tie down everything including containers for this one

Add in a number of chinnoks and you have a job on your hands

RAN moving quick with these units

Australia has been operating Chinooks off naval ships for a few years now, even going back to the RAAF CH47C operating off the centre flight deck on Tobruk, now that was tight. I imagine those pilots would appreciate the extra room of the LHD's :)

The main reason for the cost and schedule overruns for the project in a single photo ;)
