Seeing as how I found some intresting pictures of old Chinese weaponry, I figure, assuming it has not been done already, I may as well post them. I invite others to do the same if they wish.

All of them where worked great. expect for the Wheeled Flamethrower System, and the last one. I saw some of the test when i was in Beijing(very very cool!!) I didnt go to the Wheeled Flamethrower System test but i heard it didnt go well, and the 'Winged' Rocket didnt fly well.

how does that flamethrower thing work? does it shoot something? and also why do every chinese Catapaults i saw (from books, TV, internet pics, pics you posted here, etc.) have things look like broomsticks?

it only looks like broomsticks because the way they draw ropes. the ropes are for pulling the wooden part of the catapult. but since the artist is probably horrible are drawing, it's just how they draw them.

how does that flamethrower thing work? does it shoot something?

Now I am no expert, but from looking at the picture I noticed that there were several intresting points to it. From what I can tell, the system is pushed on four wheels and is likely stationary, built on site. It probably works in that one pushes the cart along and directs the nozzle. The flame it's self seems to be some sort of liquid fuel, like Napalm though probably nowhere near as efective. There seems to be a vent in the back for excess volitile material and an open top, probably to fuel whatever makes the flame go. And by the angle of the nozzle, it looks as if it is made for the pourpouse of setting the ground on fire. Possibly to burn enemy crops or buildings starting with the foundations? Looks a bit unweildy to use against people.

Just an educated guess based on the sketch. Its likely I'm wrong here.

I only konw these maybe preducted in Ming Dynasty of China. but at that time ,china isn't the strongest .So i only know a little.

I looked several pictures about Wheeled Flamethrower System. It's a very important system in chinese's battle history. I thought at that time resisted in Japanese pirate's war to play the very major role. Generally speaking,the firearm in Ming Dynasty is quite advanced.

As for rocket,Universally accepted China is the rocket origin country.When Ming Dynasty,a human named "WAN HU",He gathers all gunpowder on a wooden club tail,Ties up himself in above,Wants to fly in the sky,In was laughable at that time,He has also died,But his dream already obtains the realization actually in today.

ok, i can translate the name of the period/dynasty of the armor for you:
*start from the top (#1)*
1. Shang dynasty
2. Zhou dynasty
3. Warring States
4. Qin dynasty (Commander)
5. Qin dynasty (regular soldiers)
6. Han dynasty (Commander)
7. Han dynasty (cavalry)
8. Wei dynasty
9. South North Period (i seriously don't know the english name for this period, and the period is not that important either, so this is a direct translation)
10. Shui dynasty
11. Tang dynasty
12. Five State Period
13. Song dynasty
14. Liao dynasty (i believe Liao exsited at the same time as Song, just in different locations, so it's not another time period)
15. Jin dynasty (again, exsited at the same time as Song)
16. Western Xia dynasty (same time as Song)
17. Yuan dynasty
18. Ming dynasty
19. Qing dynasty

if anyone see anything wrong, please correct me. also im too lazy to translate the details for each (also because i don't know much of these armor terminologies)

I thought rockets were invented in the late Tang, early Song dynasty. It was used to modifies early Tang fireworks. We started using cannons and other firearms during the Song dynasty. So rocket invented during the Ming dynasty was probably from some friction book
