Farnborough, UK, July 11, 2016 - The EMBRAER and Boeing signed partnership agreement for sales and KC-390 support, multi-mission aircraft for military transport and aerial refueling. Under the agreement, the companies will explore together new business opportunities, both for commercial aircraft and for its support and maintenance. The EMBRAER will manufacture the aircraft and Boeing will be responsible for operational support.

This agreement expands collaboration existing between the companies, which in 2012 announced their intention to jointly market the aircraft. "The expansion of our relationship will provide the best medium transport aircraft for our customers, while maintaining the supported by the best available support services," said Jackson Schneider, president and CEO of Embraer Defense and Security. "The BOEING has outstanding experience in the military market and the KC-390 is the most efficient aircraft in its category."

"The partnership agreement between Boeing and Embraer brings together two strong companies and reinforces our commitment to expand the supply of services to aircraft that are not produced by Boeing," said Ed Dolanski, president of Boeing Global Services and Support. "Our advantage is the global reach of Boeing, which provides more flexibility, allowing us to respond quickly to customers and take advantage of synergies that help reduce costs and pass on these savings to customers."

The KC-390 is a tactical transport aircraft developed to set new standards in its class, while putting the lowest cost of the market lifecycle. You can perform various tasks, such as transportation and release of cargo and troops, refueling, search and rescue and combat forest fires. This is a Brazilian Air Force project (FAB), which in 2009 contracted Embraer to make the development of the aircraft. The first prototype made its first flight in February 2015 and two prototypes are currently in flight test campaign, averaging two flights a day and prove the high availability of the aircraft. The plane is currently on a tour through eight countries and expects to receive certification by the end of 2017. It is expected that deliveries begin during the first half of 2018.

Development of turbines in Mexico
Large global companies in the aerospace industry in Mexico have found the ideal conditions to develop complex technology as engines, turbines, components and airframes.

Mexico has successfully developed activities related to engines, from design and engineering and manufacturing of parts, units and systems to maintenance and repair (MRO) activities. Major international players in the country found the talent to promote projects related to high new generations of turbines value.

The activities of design and manufacture of engines Mexico are made by large international consortia engine industry. Companies like Honeywell, GE and Snecma, along with their supply chains, covering the vast majority of the processes and skills required to develop engines (from concept and design to manufacturing and repair).

Considering the big companies in Mexico and their suppliers, there are capabilities to manufacture and repair (large, medium and small) engines, including those who are new generations. The main companies involved in this activity in Mexico are:

-General Electric (Querétaro), focused on large, new and repair engines.

-Honeywell (Chihuahua), for medium and small, new and repair engines.

-SNECMA / SAFRAN (Querétaro) oriented medium, new and repair engines.

-Churchill (Sonora), directed to the manufacture of blades for Rolls Royce and its application in new products.

-ITP (Querétaro), focused on low-pressure turbine manufacture and repair.

In connection with the design of parts, components and / or turbines in Mexico, the major companies are Honeywell (with their centers in Chihuahua and Baja California); GE and ITP in Queretaro, which possibly SNECMA will join in the near future.

Notably Sonora also has a clear vocation for engines and is consoli- this segment oriented cluster. Companies like Trac Tools of Mexico, UTAS, ESCO, Wallbar Engine Components are developing their capabilities. Several of them have attracted the attention of major companies such as Rolls Royce, which since 2012 was established in Guaymas, Sonora office acquisitions.

Mexico has the tools to design and manufacture complete engines capabilities, however, the development of turbines can be driven by the following:

1. Capacity advanced education in mechanical engineering, with an emphasis on 3D modeling (UNIGRAPHICS and CATIA 5).

2. Specialization certified laboratories for tests, life, metallographic, among others.

3. Program offsets for manufacturing and maintenance of engines in Mexico.

Some success stories related to the topic of the turbines in Mexico are:

Mexicali Research & Technology Center

The Mexicali Research & Technology Center (MRTC) Honeywell in engineering and technology center, consisting of a design center, a systems integration laboratory, testing an annex and a team of business support.

Honeywell Aerospace Chihuahua

The area of aerospace manufacturing operations in Chihuahua Honeywell is shaped by extremely complex manufacturing facilities by machining. Facilities include warehouse, laboratories, quality control operations and engineering.

General Electric

GEIQ global center is the largest engineering GE Aviation and the second largest of GE Energy. In 2011, this center was expanded significantly so more than 240 engineers and designers were hired. Some of his areas of expertise are mechanical, electrical, and software engineering controls.

Mexico has forged its vocation as a center of manufacturing, engineering and development with high strategic value. Kelly Services know that this is due largely to the degree of technological sophistication of its exports, the existing engineering talent, as well as the quality and competitiveness of their labor.

Oaxaca company sign agreement Aerospace and Aeronautics University of Queretaro (UNAQ).

Announced that the first flight of Pegasus 1 will be implemented in the coming days.

Developing the Pegasus 2

On February 26, the company Oaxaca Aerospace and Aeronautics University of Queretaro (UNAQ) signed a collaboration agreement to continue the technological project "Development of strategic aircraft for national security and sports use two-seater canard type" which includes within the next two years, have these aircraft built with technology and Mexican labor.

In the ceremony held at the premises of the Oaxacan company located in the municipality of Tlalixtac de Cabrera, Oaxaca, the general coordinator of Media and Higher Education, Science and Technology, Fausto Diaz Montes said that this agreement is of great relevance to technological development of the organization, also expressed satisfaction at the development of this project that puts Oaxaca in a prominent place in the Mexican aviation.

For its part, the rector of the UNAQ, Jorge Enrique Leonardo Gutierrez said that since its creation, this institution has contributed to the development and consolidation of the aerospace industry training professionals and researchers that the aviation sector requires; so he reiterated the willingness to continue adding efforts Oaxacan company to consolidate the project have first plane made by Mexican hands and technology.

Meanwhile, the Executive President of Oaxaca Aerospace, Raul Fernandez Lopez, thanked the support of the academic institution and hoped that, with the advice of the professionals in aeronautics, next year could be flying the "Pegasus" as is initiates the work of another prototype.

It should be noted this project was selected by the Program of Incentives for Innovation of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) for financing, the degree of innovation of the aviation industry in Mexico.

Oaxaca Aerospace company introduced its first aircraft last year as part of the "Aerospace Fair Mexico 2015". The model called Pegasus PE-210A is a primary training aircraft designed for surveillance missions and meet and aerial observation.
Currently, the company is developing the second prototype, for which joint work will continue with the university, an institution that has worked with the company since 2013.

Enlist first flight of Pegasus 1

After completing the test phase, the project Pegasus PE-210 aircraft which began construction in 2011 and was completed in 2013, in the coming days will make its first flight in Mexican airspace.

The plane also known by its creators as Pegasus 1 was manufactured by Aerospace Oaxaca, becoming the first Mexican plane prototype of the modern era, developed with its own technology and thinking mainly for security forces.

He explained that at the end of this stage, "we are in the waiting already make soon its first flight, everything is a certification process, we have to see that no faults because they are very sensitive issues, we need to control and calibrate all, since making a flight means a high risk. "

Development Pegasus 2

Meanwhile, it is contemplated that in late 2018 the Pegasus 2, which will be a faster aircraft for military, strategic and sporting use, could be marketed.

Cool aircraft.

Tell AFB...he'll want to get one.
it is nice looking, the status of the progam is still a bit uncertain, in February 2016 it was reported it was going to perform its first flight, i have not seen the confirmation of it.

They say by 2018 the aircraft will fly its second phase prototype, it will be operated by the police and armed forces, but will be used also by private owners too, to be honest it is hard to know, because the Mexican government now is lead by one of the worst presidents in decades, so i do not know if it will all happen since the aircraft is founded by the private sector and the government.
