Sure say it and it will happen.. easy..

but still the range is about 22km, but Haifa is 35km away.

Like you said they have longer range rockets (Fajr-3 /5) and Haifa is well within the range of these missiles… Destroying all Hezbollah missile stocks is virtually impossible… That would mean that you will find every rocket stockpile and every missile launcher in southern Lebanon…

... Degrading the Lebanese infrastructure and hitting urban areas with 2000 pound JDAMS will only increase the number of Hezbollah supporters and members...
Totally agreed. Sometimes airstrikes on civilian/urban areas results in counterproductive political outcome.
Before Israeli airstrikes, only 40% of Lebaneses support Hezbollah.
After Israeli airstrikes, Lebanese support of Hezbollah has risen to over 80%.

from my point of view, these rockets attack on israel have psychologically affect israelis.israelis is afraid to go out of their house n bussines is not going well too,so it will affect israel's economy.
well it's quite useless 4 israel to have anti rocket/missilles laser defence although it maybe succesfully shot down several rocket when hundreds of such rocket launched by hezbollah.

to be quite honest, im actually quite surprised how organized and potent this hizbollah militia group has performed in the face of a professional standing army with its billions and billions of dollars of US equipment, tanks, aircraft etc..(i.e. IDF). the fact that they are able to launch these rockets while Israeli troops are also in the country is even more baffling! As these are mere rockets and not large missiles as such, they can, i pressume be lauched from atop buildings, or any small platform which would almost be impossible to detect. Also, im sure there is mass appeal for the said militia because they appear to have excellent logistics and networks throughout the country irrespective of religious/ethnic background. Also, how did the missiles get to lebanon from Iran? does anybody know? if they were passed through Syria(as many have speculated) did they go by the land route via Iraq? or by sea?

Personally I think many of the rockets were sent to Hezzbolah by sea over the last 5 years or so. They could have been shipped by sea without the knowledge of the shipping enities envolved. Most of course arrived in Beruit. Then were probaly shipped to Hezzbolah strongholds in S. Lebanon by truck.

Actually, from what I hear, there are massive underground tunnel networks that connect Syria and Lebanon. So the longer range missiles could have been shipped through those tunnels to avoid detection from Israeli and American satellites and ground intel. These tunnels are probably also vital for Hezbullah since Syria can probably resupply the group any time it wants. That's why bombing major bridges and highways is gonna do little to impede Hezbullah's supply routes.

Sounds like too much fantasy. Truth is Hezbollah has plenty of supplies. They knew very well that in the case of a confrontation with Israel, those roads will be the first hit, so they ammased large quantities of armament inside southern Lebanon.

AND EVERYBODY, PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT MISSILES, THOSE ARE JUST UNGUIDED ROCKETS. THE ONLY MISSILES HEZBOLLAH USED SO FAR WERE THE 2 KOWSARS WHICH HIT THE AHI HANIT AND THAT MERCHANT SHIP

Ahem. A rocket is a type of Missile. Generally anything that is thrown is a missile
so therefore it's quite correct to talk about missiles.

Obviously Hizbullah doesn't mean to make a lot of civilian casualties, and anyway this is less likely to happen since every time a rocket launch is detected in south Lebanon Israelis have all the time they need to blows alarm sirens and take shelter in bunkers. Thoses rockets are far from powerfull enough to breach into hardened shelters and usually they only scratch the streets and blow some windows.

But the objective being to paralyse the activities of a major city like Haifa, it is fully accomplished since almost half of the population have already fleed to safety.

And we most not forget that Hizbullah still has one powerfull card to play : The big chemical facilities of the harbor of Haifa.

Nasrallah officially announced that Hizbullah will not hit these facilities to avoid extended civilian casualties. But some big rockets into the big tankers and the whole city and it's surounding will be a no-go zone for some time. That would also destroy most of Israel's shipping capacities, a great blow to it's economy.

But it appears that, unlike Israel, Hizbullah believes in "balanced retaliations".

I agree with you Shahid, I think that Hezbollah has behaved itself better than the Israelis in this war so far, except for starting the whole thing. Other than that though, Hezbollah has shown more regard for civillian lives. Of course, you have to take into account the fact that Israel has an air force and more powerul weapons, allowing to cause more destruction. Israel has been conducting more air strikes than Hezbollah has rocket launches, doing them with more powerful weapons and with less warning. It follows logically that Israel would cause far more civillian casualties than Hezbollah has, even if it didn't target civillains at all.

So are they still operating those chemical facilites? Surely they aren't that foolish? Unless they are needed to provide Israel with gas-in that case they would have no choice.
