These are pictures of my PLAN Carrier Strike Group built around CV-16, Liaoning. it includes the following:

1 x CV=16, Liaoning
1 x Ty[pe 055 Large Area Defense DDG (AEGIS-like)
2 x Type 052D Multi-mission, air defense DDG (AEGIS-like)
2 x Type 054A Multi-mission Guuided missile frigates FFG
1 x Type 092 Nuclear attack Submarine SSN

The Chinese have been building up and modernizing their navy over the last 10-12 years and have made extensive and amazing progress.

They have gone from 1950s era technology to modern technologies in that time frame and now have two STOBAR carriers and are building even more capable CATOBAR carriers which will have full catapult and arrester technology and the escorts capable of defending them. They now have AEGIS-like destroyers, the Type 052D which are similar in make up and capability to Arliegn Burke Flight IIA destroyers, and have just introduced a 12,000 ton class of destroyers, the Type 055, which are similar in scope and function to the US Ticonderoga class AEGIS cruisers.

Their frigate escorts, the Type 54A frigates, are modern, multi-use frigates with VLS anti-air capability.

They are also deploying with a nuclear attack sub, which is not nearly up to US standards, but they are also improving there with new submarines coming out too.

The carrier has an air wing of J-15 Strike fighters similar to the Russian SU-33 fighters.

No one should underestimate the Chinese new carriers and technologies, are doubt that they do not intend to continue to modernize and build full sized carriers with the aircraft and escort ships to go with them. It is likely that within ten years China will have 4-5 carrier groups in the western Pacific, with numerous large destroyers (cruisers) and other AEGIS-like destroyers and newer nuclear attack submarines and frigates to escort them.

This last image shows the difference in size between the Type 052D and the Type 055. it is a little misleading because the Type 055 is a water line model while the other shows the full hull. But the length of the ship tells you how much larger the Type 055 really is:

Wow... great work! I've followed your builds for a while... great to see them all together as a strike group.
