Coup d'etat in Honduras!

Quote:
Honduran soldiers block a street near the residence of Honduras' President Manuel Zelaya in Tegucigalpa June 28, 2009. The Honduran Supreme Court said it had ordered the army to oust Zelaya on Sunday because of his unlawful plan to hold a public vote on presidential re-election.

Civilians surround army soldiers (in vain) near the presidential house in Tegucigalpa June 28, 2009. Honduran President Manuel Zelaya was arrested Sunday by troops who surrounded his home ahead of a controversial constitutional referendum, Zelaya's private secretary Enrique Reina said. Rumors spread Sunday morning that the president could be at the air base in southern Tegucigalpa.

Honduran soldiers arrive at the presidential residency in Tegucigalpa June 28, 2009. Witnesses said leftist president Zelaya was detained at home by troops in a constitutional crisis over his attempt to win re-election. CNN's Spanish-language channel later quoted Costa Rican officials as saying he was in Costa Rica and seeking political asylum.

Chaos and blood spilled in Honduras!

GRAPHIC!!

GRAPHIC!!

Quote:
Police and Army units clash with supporters of ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya nearby the presidential palace in Tegucigalpa on June 29, 2009. Honduras interim leader Roberto Micheletti imposed a nationwide 48-hour curfew after the army ousted elected President Manuel Zelaya on June 28, and sent him into exile.

Some 1,500 protesters, some of them masked and carrying sticks, taunted soldiers and burned tires just outside the gates of the presidential palace in a face-off with security forces. Honduras came under pressure on Monday to reinstate Zelaya as many Latin American leaders agreed to withdraw envoys.
