That looks like one beefy vehicle, German engineering has always been fantastic, just out of interest, i do kind of lack military knowledge, is this meant to be the equivalent of a humvee?

humvee is not even really armored, this vehicle offers protection compareable to a modern mbt

If the men inside that vehicle can survive the blast of 4+ 153/155mm artillery shells being detonated directly under them, which is what most of the IED's in Iraq are made out of, then I would definately be willing to go on patrol in that vehicle. Otherwise, in that kind of situation I'll be riding in the APC thank-you-very much. Because you definately would NOT see me anywhere near the inside of a moving humvee, armored or no.

Even the armored humvees get ripped to shreds when it's anything more powerful than an RPG, and if it's hit by a well timed IED than you can just forget about it.

It looks to be very survivable, but as much as an MBT? I dunno... Because also from the looks of it, it looks like it can be easily mission-killed from IED's or AT mines taking out it's wheels/axil area. Which is actually the weakness of the American Stryker aswell, it's wheels get taken out and then it just catches fire, or sometimes it will completely flip the APCs on their side. This vehicle doesn't look impervious to this kind of damage, but that's just my opinion.

    Note the burning/missing tires:
