high caliber rounds can go way beyond the 900m mark, if you want to hit around 900m mark China can just utilize the familiar 7.62x54. There are several version of the 12.7x108 sniper rifles that China has.
That's the thing, except for the JS 7.62, which is only adapted by the police, I have not seen PLA introduced any new 7.62mm sniper rifles since the type 85.

I am also curious how are the 12.7mm moving along, I know there are several new designs, but don't know what does PLA think about them.

Beijing's 'unprecedented' arms buildup has raised concern in the region and underscored the need to promote dialogue between Chinese and US military leaders, Admiral Robert Willard, the new head of US Pacific Command said.

Maybe its the camera angle but it doesn't look like the rotodome radar like the standard KJ-2000 we used to be seeing, new radar? Also possibly another candidate for Air Force One?

Yes, the sudden appearance of these photos is questionable.

Re: Chinese military photos

Some photos of the PLA practicing for the 60th anniversary parade. Apparently, they use string to create lines that will help make sure that the troop formations are uniform. The five lines are: head, chest, gun, hand, and foot.

Re: Chinese military photos

Nem116, thanks again for posting photos. And thanks again for posting that link to China SMACK. I read some of the discussion about the troops of the 60th annual parade. Most of those people do not know that those persons marching in the parade were just recruited especially for the parade...among many other things they don't know about the PLA.

spec ops will prolly adopt the 12.7mm ones...regular units dont have much use for them, i'd rather use artillery to blow everything into pieces.
