This concept has been around for quiet a while now. I couldn't find much else on it, though. I think I found a press release of TK saying there are up to three interested parties outside Europe. The pdf implies South Africa, but it doesn't say anything at all in that direction.

My initial impression is that the ship is trying to do too any things. The S. Koran LPX (Dokdo class) is much "cleaner" in comparison. However the SA design is better defended with VL-SAM system.
