I see. My point was that since we don't know what we're thinking, you'll probably have to provide a comprehensive list of all the terms that you want to know. I'm not very good at providing romanization of pronunciation for Chinese words so I'll have to let someone else pick up the slack...

There are two 通讯员 in a PLA company, the direct translations are 通讯-----communication, 员----personnel, especially a person in charge of something. But they are not officers, they are low level surgents or just soilders.

Anyway, just give us your list and see what we can do.

Hi! Thanks for responding all. Unfortunately, this is shortnoticed. Therefore, I won't have time to compile a list. However, Szbd, can you tell me how to pronounce those words...communication personnel? I want to be able to look somewhat intelligable Again, thanks for all of your responses!

the number is the tone. 1 is flat tone, 2 is up, 4 is down, 3 is down then up.

Yes, there should be a English-Chinese military terminology dictionary! I felt somewhat like idiot talking in Chinese and trying to use my hand and self made sound effects to describe radar lol
