Chinese Ballistic Missiles

Those are the new IRBM's. They were first shown about 6 months ago, coming totally out of the blue. Often referred to as "DF-25". I guess they are thoroughly de-classified now.

Yeah, DF-25 is the most speculated, but some think otherwise. Just looking for the thread to put these in, other pics of this missile were posted under the DF-41 thread and there was argument there that it was a modified DF-21. Then there's some that speculate its the anti-ship ballistic missile that's been talked about. OMG... that train yard is full of them!

China has 20 nukes out of 150-400 that can reach the U.S. The rest on on short and medium range missiles, subs, and bombers.

those pics show that the missiles are not all DF-25.if you are interesting review those pics, you can find there are two different kinds of ballistic missiles are loaded on the trucks, you can see some trucks loaded the missiles are smaller and canvas with lighter-coloured packaging,those missiles are DF-21,the trucks loaded the missiles are larger and canvass with darker-coloured packaging,then those missiles are DF-25.

The chinese for sure can muster more then 20 nukes to counter the USA.

My question is that does US really need 1000+ nukes, i mean how many times do you want to nuke a country. you really do not need that many few hundred is sufficiently adequeate.

as one of the chinese office saying was: "It doesnt matter how many nukes you launch at us, we only need one to destroy you."

really makes sense me cause 1 nuke at 1 city is the same effect as 100 nuke at 1 city.

What you say make a lot of sense, and theoretically 1 nuke to 1 city is also correct. However you would need many missiles to garantee a hit on the city what with today's anti-ballistic missile technology.

Of course you wouldn't need as much missiles as what the US have now, but you would require them if you want to be world police and not just a small regional power.

Thus it would all be politics and strategies.

Just my humble opinion though.

china needs more nukes so usa can never contemplate first strike, no matter how badly it may lose conventionally. it's serious business to eliminate such thinking. china the type 94 submarine coming online and the df31's, certainly at least 50 warhead can reach continental USA, much more if MIRV.. once you count US bases from garcia, guam, to haiwaii, count in alaska, count their troops in japan, korea, iraq and afghanistan, the number jumps to the several hundreds. china's goal should be to surpass 200 warheads that can reach the continent, all of them on mobile launchers or submarines.

china will not seek a first strike capability however. It's not a production concern but a civilizational concern. the world doesn't need another first strike power to tip its danger level.

Nice to hear that China's leadership cares so much for mankind but unfortunately in the case that China would be reduced to molten radioactive wasteland by a determined enemy nuclear first strike attack there will nobody still alive (at least in a decent way...) in China to accept the honors!

Fortunately for all mankind China's leadership is not that naive and they know that only unrelenting vigilance keeps Armageddon from happening.

from your confused speech it's hard to understand what your position is. certainly all the world knows who is the trigger happy nation in earth. my post was only my opinion. maybe china leadership is wiser than me and decides one day not to trust cowboy crazies and builds first strike anyway. usa wouldn't know about it of course just like they can't figure out even how many tanks china got.

Of course everyone is aware about the certain power committing acts of aggression regularly during the last two decades... so China has simply to adapt her strategy accordingly.

The CMC is probably still looking for the perfect missile and then they'll deploy it on a massive scale.

On the other hand, I've heard that some of the roadblocks in Chinese strategic deployment come from either metallurgy issues (however absurd that sounds) or from the CMC not trusting the 2nd Artillery commanders (that doesn't make very much sense to me today, though maybe twenty five years ago it would have)

There must be significantly more (2x-4x) more land-based mobile nuclear missiles than SSBN missiles. Based on confirmed numbers of SSBN's, you can estimate how many total ICBM's there are.

Yeah it does...Its like the damages from a fire are directly correlated on the numbers of fire fighting vehicles in the fire site. Works well if you want to belive that there are more launchers, but not if you want to know just how much there really is...
