    2009 60th Aniversary PLA Parade

    Opened a thread since the 60th Anniversary for CCP control of China since 1949, is coming up next year. In 1999 China showcased its newest military hardware and some prototypes for possible future equipment. Examples such as the Type 98 MBT showcased in the parade which soon after evolved to the Type 99. Their prized small fleet of flankers back then, and some ICBM showcase. And also their newest small arms seen being carried by the troops T-95.

    Also discussion from the new developments and acquirements from 1999 till present.

    This thread is to discuss what possible weapons will be showcased next year to celebrate 60th Anniversary of CCP.

    My list of most propable showcases:
    * Larger numbers of troops with T-95
    * Type 99
    * Chinese derivative of Humvee
    * J-10

    Lol load it up on some huge trailer, like one of those OVERSIZE trucks that you find on the freeways in the US all the time.

    How often does the PLA have a parade on August 1st? They didn't do one this year, so do they have one only on certain anniversary years (during the olympics probably wouldn't be a good idea )?

    Not very often. The PLA had its 80th anniversary last year. But no more goose stepping marching parade in Tianamen square however. Instead the parade was held inside a PLAN naval base---which is a message saying about the PLAN's growing importance. In Beijing, all they did was held a one month exhibit in some rented hall, which was great because you can see a lot of hardware like ZTZ-99 tanks in display, J-10 models and a 093 model sub in a water tank.

    Not much of a parade or celebration this year, but naval vessels did show up in Shanghai where some celebration appeared to be held.

    well it is the big 60th anniversary, not the big 59th anniversary, but i dont see how the WZ-2000 nor the KJ-2000 will be showcased...navy troops will replace those old era rifles with the T95 carbine as seen in pictures, also the PAP force seen carrying the T03? instead of the T81...

    there's a big marching parade EVery 10 years because of the massive cost to mobilize troops.... last time was on the 50th anniversary of national day of 1999, and the next one is on 2009 !

    Harbin Engineering University has professors from all around the world including the USA. Some of the professors have been threatened by their own government and branded as traitors for selling trade secrets to China ! ...LoL

    What to expect in the upcoming 60th anniversary parade

    EDIT: Oops, I just found out a similar thread has already been created. So will a moderator please move this one to the older one. Thanks.

    This time they would probably include:
    New uniforms
    JH-7A aircraft
    Su-30 aircraft
    J-10 aircraft
    J-11B aircraft
    FC-1 aircraft
    KJ-2000 aircraft
    DF-31A ballistic missile
    Latest variants of Type96 and Type99 tanks.
    Latest variants of J-8II aircraft

    This time they probably would NOT include:
    H-8 aircraft (rumored stealth bomber, we don't even know if the project exist)
    JL-2 ballistic missile (probably still undergoing tests)
    J-XX aircraft (next generation fighter, either not built yet or undergoing early tests)
    Z-10 helicopter (prabably still under going tests)

    What else might they include or not include?
