They knew that people are there taking photos. The banner "No Photos" means "I Show You The New Toy!"

Ok, so they are actually telling them "forget the others! This is the thing you need to concentrate on taking your photos with" :P

More like a response to the higher-ups' call to "do something" on things that they have next to no control of (the location of those shipyards are nightmare for access control); besides these pics are more of a "close-one-eye" thing by the officials anyway.

Or better yet, "Ok..fine, take one photo only, but don't go show it to anybody!"

Is this hull, shown in the picture, really that drastic compared to current 054A's? I personally can't tell the difference. I wonder if it even worth been given a totally new designation, perhaps just 054A+ or block ###, maybe even 054B, instead of just straight to 056.

^^^ 056 and 054A are two totally different things, one is a frigate, one is a much smaller corvette. Look at post #362 to get an idea of the size difference.

This should help you out. Type 054A is an FFG, Guided Missile Frigate. This Type 056 is an OPV, Offshore Patrol Vessel...or Corvette. And as you can see, the Type 056 is much smaller.

Maybe she can have small hangars for UAV choppers, for surveillance.

They'll have two of them out of the chute before you know it. (FYI, "out of the chute" is term from American Rodeo) The Chute is where they keep the cattle they are going to rope. When they open the chute, it goes out into the arena and the cowboy then either ropes it, or wrestles it down and ties it off.

It will be interesting to see if they go right into building two more (if they are that confident with the design) or if they will let these get out, outfitted, and commissioned with some sea miles on them before they start a second pair.

Or ride it on it's back with one hand holding the rein tightly and try to hang on for 8 seconds! Yeee...haahh!

Yes, but then the bull does not come out of a chute, it comes out of a gate...as do the bronc riders on horses.

Been to many a rodeo over the years. Great sport...but they can be brutal, especially the bull riders.

Do you really know what 056 is ? In your language would be like "stepper" and burning a CD :-)

    Re: Type 056 OPV/Corvette

Members have earlier posted the construction pics of 2-056 at HD & 1 in HP, while there were pics from unknown location also where 5-056 have been seen under construction.

So whats the current actual count (underconstruction) ???

Three assembled, 2 at HD and 1 at HP, with modules for another hull visible at HP.
