China has planned a cruiser called Type 058 entry around 2020, this is different from Type 052D

Personally I feel the "over 7000t" number to be more realistic for a ship the 052C's size, and especially looking at the way it is armed (48 large SAMs with eight AShMs the size of anti ship tomahawks).
With that info then, I'm going to interpret the "6800 t" displacement for 052D from the "new vessel" projection, as standard displacement rather than full, which if applied to the rest of the chart, will have interesting implications for the new cruiser and frigate's respective weights and the fleet composition PLAN are going for in the next coming decade...
i think the new 052D wont use the new VSL,it's more adviseable to use 2 set of VSL from 052C,no matter considers its the cost or generality.

It seems that the new USN Zumwalt class destroyer has VLS silos placed around the rim and along the length of the ship's hull. I suppose it's less messy that way if the ship is hit.

your analyse is right,as a chinese, i expect that there're more &more ships being built.

Wansui is only ever used to address the emperors. All the other royalties have to settle with qiansui, which means thousand years.

The normal guy is lucky if he gets to 100 years old, so you see there is a whole order of magnitude difference between each levels! :P

There is no such thing as qian sui. And the correct phrase is "Fu Wang Wan Sui Wan Sui Wan Wan Sui" where Fu Wang means emperor. A Wan Sui means live 10000 years. It's just like "lord almighty" almighty has nothing to do with lord other than being a phrase that is often said with "lord"

Note the maple leaf on the funnel.

This is the Canadian HALIFAX class frigate 333 TORONTO (not a very pretty ship IMHO).

Hello myacupbaby, which Chinese fourm you regularly "stationed"?

As for the 万岁 wan sui topic, let's just drop it. It can be debated at the history section.

I think China currently have a regulation / doctorine difficulty to field anything in "cruiser" class ship, and since modern DDGs can function as a cruiser, there is no need to start with either.

When do members here expect to see evidence of an 052D Destroyer being built in Chinese shipyards?

Not until the assembly hall is freed up, which means later this year or early next year at the earliest. If there are significant changes to the hull there will be a longer pause in between productions.
