Anyway, Sichang has proven her worth as one of the most flexible platforms in the PLAN, if only PLAN were willing to construct a second and even third ship, to supplement the many roles Sichang already conducts.

I don't think Sichang will be converted to an offensive platform...rather it shall be just a test platform...

but if this weapon can be easily retrofitted onto any helicopter deck, with the shelter no bigger than a container box, perhaps this can be an easy fit for other PLAN ships that have helicopter decks?

I was thinking that a better fit is instead of the HY-1 bins on non-refitted Ludas - or instead of the rear turret with reload locker in place of the AAA/Crotale position. Smerch has a 180km range whilst some larger Chinese MRLS have even greater ranges.

Re P-shopped... highly unlikely. The original pics before I combined and reduced them to fit here are high res and flawless. And 100% consistant. Would be a masterpeice way beyond any of the CGI wonders we now see on a daily basis.

Helipads are in short enough supply in the PLAN as it is IMO.
