A lot of butt hurt "Western" fanbois on there. "For a country which is decades behind the west, can only steal tech and does not not have the ability to innovate" these fanbois sure are losing a lot sleep over China.

That is why I see this forum as balanced, taking into account of what facts are available and not just going with the hype.

mp.net (military Photos) has thousands upon thousands of military photos. Excellent photos in fact.. and a lot of haters coupled with jokers that like to derail threads and make fun of nearly any situation they can. If you stick with the photo threads and stay away from politics you will be fine.

Cv-16 and liaoning is official. PLAN finally can included. Aircraft carrier in its navy ship list. This can easily make her the second most powerful navy.

And that single carrier has a limited capacity for aviation fuel as compared to an retired USN CV there by limiting flight operations.. also some PLAN ships cannot make their own fresh water. This limits the amount of time those ships may spend at sea. the PLAN is large & modern but still has a way to go to become powerful.

Pretty sure all modern PLAN ships have a desalination plant on-board. It's just cheaper to pick up fresh water than to run the plant so if a ship was low on water but close to port, buying water from port is a more economical alternative than making your own. Don't take my word as the gospel though, I'm just regurgitating what I read previously.

No CV has an unlimited capacity for aviation fuel. Its capacity must depend on the the intensity of flight operations for which she is (re)designed and the ability of fleet tankers to top her up. As the demands of PLAN will be higher than those she was originally designed for it is likely that the aviation fuel capacity has been increased. Of course newly designed Chinese flattops are likely to have even more.
