If they do go with a famous name, since Zheng He is already taken, I think that they should use Yongle/Zhu Di as the name of the Varyag, possibly even as the name of the class if they are indead basing their indigenous aircraft carriers on the Varyag's design. The Yongle Emperor/Zhu Di was the one who ordered Zheng He to go on his expeditions, so I think that its only fitting to name an aircraft carrier training ship after him as he was the one who started China's greatest ocean going period in history.
it is also possible for future Chinese carriers to name after great Chinese emperors, personally I think this is a very high possibility. I know service ships will be named after places... so maybe they will be named after provinces? maybe its just me, but that doesn't sound appealing at all.
Wow, she's back already! That was a pretty fast sea trial. Is that normal for new ships?
Four, five days seems alright for a first trial. There's bound to be more.
CARRIER HAS ARRIVED! ^^
Shi Lang makes a triumphant return.

I think not possible.
Next step after dry dock will be adding arresting hook and prepare for real air operation landing and take off trial.
What does the Chinese say in that photo?
I am using this CG in my overview page and want to give credit..ala:
Also, here's my pic of the return into port:

Great stuff going on.
My guess is that they will identify the things needing fixing, get them fixed, go back out and test those to make sure, and move on to the next tests.
It may be several iterations before they get to the air ops at all...but we shall see. We'll kinow when the arresting cables are laid out...that doesn;t mean the next trip they will test them, it just means they could.
