well even if ex-Varyag has spent 25% of its time at sea before being handed over to PLAN that is very good achivement
the shipyard obviously wants to hand over the carrier after doing its own part to make sure its doing what its designed for, i am sure PLAN representivies are onboard over looking the trials
once the navy gets its it thats when the real deal starts, i mean deep water long range and long duration deployments

That's cheaper than a single fighter.
Absolute bargain? Sure, it's been striped down, but the value of having a Russian Carrier to study, learn from is worth way more than 20 millon in my opinion.

Bargain? It was expected to be scrapped. The strap down was a real complete one. So you really have just an empty hull.
No engine, no arrestor hook system, no radar.. Nothing!!!
It is amazing PLAN manage get it to full combat working condition consider they have no experience in CV previously.

How would anyone know if it's a bargain or not? There's not exactly a market for stripped down hulls of aircraft carriers.

The box says "China Navy" not "People's Liberation Army - Navy". Is the PLAN going to be called CN in the future? Officially?
