I believe that is exactly what the PLAN probably has in mind...although it will take quite a few years to get all of that done.

varyag is still nearly 70000 tons right now. it doent matter if it has stuff wiehging it down. i hope more pictures of the actuall interior of the vessel show up.

All the rails on Varyag especially the ones on front of the flight deck makes doubt if PLAN is really re-fitting her as an aircraft carrier. What do u guys think? Do u think i'm wrong?

On a side note, I think I have to congradulate China's shipbuilding industry. Check out the 300,000 tonne tanker it is building.

According to wwu2142 who posted the pic i put on here,

the tanker looks like its one of the large ones needed to complete iran and chinas massive enrgy deals. the carrier proposals look nice, but a lack of a ski jump makes me wonder if china will actually build them.future carrier models?

and after studying all these pics - I can't found any electrinocal quipment there, no radar, no radio, no GPS ..... did they integrat these systems after painting?
Didn_t they installed all equipments at the new destroyers (like 169) before sea trials and didn_t they finished the painting after the sea trials, as I remember
So why the finished painting of Varjag when no equipment is build there ....
and at least - her stern section seems to be very high out of water
