Well From those pics we can be sure that nothing radical has happened to Varyag weigth since it left Nikolajev. And that pic of kuznetsov shows where the waterline would be when fully loaded. So Chinese havent fit any engines to it??

They could have done something to make it look like Varyag is emptier than she really is. However, I don't see the point in doing something like that. If PLAN really intends to turn Varyag into an operational carrier it will soon become obvious as electronics and weapons are installed.
I agree but think about it..if u are thel leader of China and you know everyone is curious about what u are doing with Varyag, would u prefer to let them know that u intend to operate the carrier sooner? Or would u prefer to let them know after u commission the carrier?Originally Posted by trkl

well if you compare that waterline of the newest Varyag pic to the one where its still in Ukraina, you can see that if the ship is loaded heavily and you still want to paint fake waterline, it would ran very near to the overhang section, making it look silly. So no, they arent painted it, wishfull thinking, Im sorry

if the waterline is comparable or identical
the pic where its still in Ukraina you can see, the stern section is deeper in the water as the bow
- and the right one pic (Adm. Kuzn,) will show us a full loaded balanced ship
- I think, this clearly show, that the engines was installed in the Ukrainian Yard -
now to compare the big new pic out of Dalien you can see, the stern actually is not so deep in the water as in Ukraina - now the bow is deeper than the stern -
- there is only 1 point to explain this, I think: these Ukrainean, useless (rotten and rusty) engines, was stripped, dismantled, scrapped in the 3 Years peerside in Dalian, and
! no new engines are installed now !
this empty hull will never go to sea, no engines, no radar, no electronic equipment - this hull will be more used for entertainments as every other russian carriers (Kiew, Minsk) before ....![]()
I am going to be confused - what is going on at these island (or did you say "tower" in english)
at attached Image you may see the Island at Dalian, Ukraina und Bosporus
=> the circled blocks on the front of the island seem new--compared to previous images

the tower has scaffleding so the workers can acess it from the outside.
God damn...been away for like...1 week?
And this is what I get. A possible confirmation about Varyag = Casino?
I realy hoped China could get it operative, but seeing those pics and after reading your interesting discussion, guys, I'm not so sure.
Rails:
Kuznetsov also has theese, so it cant be a decisive confirmation. Atleast I think they are identic with the ones found on these pics.
High waterline:
This is for me the most likely proof of the casino theory. The ship is just floating too high for beeing an future warship (atleast near future, that is).
The point were someone (MiGLeader?) said they could have painted the waterline higher up to make it look puny, but that cant be the case. The hull-thingy on the extreme front of the bow would still have been under the water (as they cant modify that part of the ship.
Missing antennas and such:
This would also be a strong indication on the future casino faith...
As they would most likely have isntalled all the advanced military electronic eqiopment on the "island" before they painted it, it seems that they have simply not installed any electronic equipment on the "island.
However, all the maintanance ladders outside the island could also indicate they are working on something (could might as well be a paintjob)...
IMO, seems like the mystery aint solved yet. We just have to wait and see.
or it can be turned into another amusment park like the Misnk and Kiev, i mean if you look at the Kiev it's got all those flags around it and fences
where's holmes and watson when you need them....

Guys let's not give up our faith so easily..like i said before...if ur the leader of china and u know everyone is curious about what ur doing with Varyag..would u install the weapons and engines at a rapid speed?Originally Posted by swimmerXC
Sczepan u need to stop blow our faith in the PLAN. Ur doubts are understandable but please stop saying things that don't make sense...such as varyag had engine when it reached China. i believe the they did for some reason remove some things from varyag but i think they are just equipments that were left by the unkainians and were useless after so many years. I still think the PLAN will commission the carrier...spending so much money and effort to get the carrier home and not using it doesn't sound very logical! The rails can be fold down when necessary...that's standard russian design...once again please don't give up hope on Varyag and the PLAN.
Where's Jeff Head? He should have a good answer to all of Sczepan's doubts.

chinas leaders have a tough time balancing out propaganda with security interests. another of migleaders varyag theories:Originally Posted by PLABUDDY

the company that bought the ship is out of business.
macao cannot house varyag size ships
the leaders of the company had pla associations
the ship has been dormant for 3-4 years.
thats my biggest evidence
I agree with u 100%.Originally Posted by MIGleader
I also have my doubts about the "casino" theory. It really is looking more and more like an operational carrier. Isn't there anybody near that shipyard that can ask around and try to get some info?
