Bah, they always sent that ship or 167
Anywho, which ports in the US? SD or LA?
This is a discussion on Chinese naval ships sail to visit USA, Canada and Philippines within the Navy forums, part of the China Defense & Military category; Just found this on the net: PLA statement: http://english.pladaily.com.cn/site2...ent_562076.htm Pictures here: http://english.people.com.cn/200608/...23_296103.html...

None of the articles seem to tell you what ports. But Anyway, I think this is great news. Such events would defenantly strengthen Sino-western relations.
I'm happy to read this![]()
This will boost Sino-American relations.
In the US The ships may go to San Diego, Seattle or San Francisco...I wonder if they will go to Hawaii??
Way to go PLAN!!![]()

am what I am.... 'Dat's all what I am"
maybe they can get some maintainence tips from GE while they're here.
As a resident of SF, I sure hope it comes to San Francisco!
It'd make sense too, they've been to San Diego already.
I want Asia on my front porch and America as my backyard.
Disclaimer: By America, I meant the Continent. And yes, I know Asian homes have neither a backyard nor a porch in the American sense.
Sounds promising. They've been to Washington also. The Chinese crew on that Luhu got the royal treatment up there. The USN really rolled out the red carpet for that PLAN ship. Maybe they'll go to SF this time around.Originally Posted by sumdud

GE's engines worked fine, I never heard of it breaking down...

Here's the latest AP report:

Looks like it's a Pearl Harbor invasion.![]()
Chinese Navy missile destroyer arrives in Pearl Harbor.

Should be a good time for these PLAN sailors. The Chinese Navy destroyer Qingdao (DDG 113) transit through the Pearl Harbor channel while being escorted by a harbor patrol boat as it arrives for a routine port visit. Two ships representing China’s Navy, the destroyer Qingdao (DDG 113) and the oiler Hongzehu (AOR 881) arrived in Pearl Harbor. During their visit, China’s Sailors will have the opportunity to interact with their U.S. counterparts and experience the unique culture of Hawaii.
Here are some pics from http://www.navy.mil/ about the PLAN arrival in Pearl Harbor,HI..That PLAN officer is none other than Deputy Commander, North Sea Fleet, Rear Adm. Wang Fushan. He did not want to miss this trip! I wonder how many other PLAN "brass" are on board for this deployment?

113 is still a sharp looking ship.
China is apparently not interested in giving anybody a closeup look at any of their newer ships at this time. I'm sure, given a couple of more years, we may see one of these more capable Chinese guided missile destroyers visiting a foreign port.
I do believe that 168 will get sent out the next time south sea fleet is suppose to be visiting foreign port and maybe 136 or 137 will get sent out when East Sea fleet gets the call. 052C and 051C simply has too many issues right now (need to mature far more), before they can go too far from China.
