Germans training the Imperial Chinese Army

    Hi community,

maybe someone can help me on my research regarding: Major Albin von Reitzenstein, B 1852 + 1927, Oberst a.D, German instructor around 1900 in China, participant during the Boxerrevolution as Staff Off. to the German East Asia Brigade(cavalary unit), Lt. Gen. in the Chinese Army and in charge for training (before Falkenhausen and Max Bauer). Opend up a German school for Chinese officers. Also active in Deutsch-Sued-West (African Colony) and participant on the Boer side during the Boer war.

So far I was only able to gain some information from www.feldgrau....

I would be grateful for any hints or news regarding his live and career in China.

I don't know what kind of information you need.Acturally you can always find some records in the National Library in Beijin if this guy was employed by the goverment. But firstly you must know his Chinese name because every foreign officials had a Chinese name around that time.
