The idea of separating North and South Taiwan

Northern taiwan, taipei, the strong hold of KMT nationalist group, favors Pro-China stance. Southern Taiwan, Kaohsiung, is a strong hold of DPP, an anti-china faction.

The idea is separate the the 2 regions. The northern section would go for eventual unification with mainland.
While the southern region would be on their own..

There would be demarcation line drawing in the middle.
People who favors unification would migrate to the North and those want to be indepedent, then resettle in the South.

WHile the north would engage with China on all trade aspect. South Taiwan would go back to farming and agriculture.

Really a compromise for everybody.
