Happy Birthday - Republic of China (Taiwan)

No matter how anyone views the Republic of China, lets give a round of applause to the Republic of China on its 97th Birthday. Remembering its part in the history of the world.

I think most Chinese will rather give me a dollar then say happy birthday to ROC.

Ten-Ten celebrates the founding of the Republic of China on October 10th, 1911, which was the predecessor-state to both the People's Republic of China and Taiwanese state. All Chinese should celebrate it as a day marking the birth of China as a nation-state and an end to the absolutist Manchu regime.

I think I've found my patriotic match! Thanks for the great pics mate, I watched most of the stuff on my laptop via cough illegal cough "internet tv". I remember last years, didn't they say the Harley Davidsons (military police) were gonna be retired?

I wonder if we'll ever see a celebration like the 1991 ones, with the hardcore military parade and extreme crowds and fireworks.

Happy birthday to ROC, hope reunification of China and end of the chinese civil war will come onedays soon as well.

anyway, is the Taipei 101 the only skyscraper in Taipei? I like it's shape, how i looks like a traditional chinese pagoda, abit like the Jinmao in Shanghai actually.

Let the people decide, Look at how far we've come (human race), humans should decide their own fate.

Let's just celebrate the Republic of China's 97th Birthday and keep politics out of this celebration.

Hey they look like real Chinese Cities after all!

I liked then Taipei picture, it is the typical image of Southern Chinese citiscapes that I love, the soaring high mountains and the rising modern towers in the valleys. Uniquely Beautiful.

No, they look more like Japanese cities.

Taiwan is supposed to be a beautiful place and relatively under-developed for tourism. It's probably worth visiting before more people start going there.
