Just wondering what country now produce the most advanced CNC machine, especially for ship builder and jetfighter. I read somewhere China has mastered CNC technology and is at par with the best, really ? I understand China still import many CNC machines, especially from Germany and Japan. Not sure from the USA, perhaps soon after this news "China welcomes U.S. efforts to expand high-tech trade"

But does China really need CNC machine from the USA ?, I heard there is only one company left in the USA still producing CNC, not sure whether it is the best CNC machine though :-)

I believe it's in the science and technology thread a while ago there was the story that the US labeled these dual-use items not to be sold to China. So I assume other countries followed but China eventually produced them and supposedly killed the foreign market for the US because they were around half the cost of the US version. Those were 5-axis.
