Hey Popeye, what's wrong with your Lakers (0-2)? I haven't seen any of their games to see what's the problem, do you know? Is Dewight Howard still hurt? Anyway, it's a long season, they'll be fine.
Dunno. It's only two games..they will play 82.. On ESPN sports talk radio last night it was mentioned that the Lakers have many new players to fit in and a coach in his second year with the Lakers. It will take a little time for everything to melt together. I predict 50-60 wins for the Lakers this season. Don't be surprised if they still have a losing record at the New Year.

I agreed, the Lakers are still a dangerous team.

Beijing is tightening security as its all-important Communist Party congress approaches, and some of the measures seem bizarre. A newly-arrived petitioner from southern China's Hunan province rests on a bed of a rental room that was raided by unidentified men a week ago, on the outskirts of Beijing Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012. The woman has been petitioning to draw central government attention to get back her compensation from local government after a forced home relocation. "There is no law in China, especially for us petitioners and ordinary folk," another petitioner said in an interview with The Associated Press, complaining about the impunity with which authorities detain "petitioners" - people who bring local complaints directly to the central government in an age-old Chinese tradition that has continued during the Communist Party era. China's ruling communist elite began a closed-door meeting Thursday to finalize preparations for a painstakingly choreographed but still fraught transfer of power to a younger generation of leaders. The meeting of the policy-setting Central Committee is its last before Communist Party leader Hu Jintao and others in his government begin to cede power to Vice President Xi Jinping and others.

A general view shows public housing in Hong Kong November 4, 2012. Sky-high property prices prompted the Hong Kong government to impose measures to rein in residential home prices, which jumped 20 percent in the first nine months of this year even as the economy contracted 0.1 percent in the second quarter. Residents watch TV in an common area in front of their beds which they rent for $167 as their home in Hong Kong November 1, 2012. In October, Hong Kong leader Leung Chun-ying singled out the re-emergence of cage homes - wire mesh hutches stacked on top of each other - and cubicle apartments as issues that highlighted the gravity of poverty that existed alongside one of Asia's glittering financial centres. More than 1.1 million people, or 17 percent of Hong Kong's population, lived below the poverty line in 2011, earning less than HK$3,500 ($450) per month, according to the Hong Kong Council of Social Services. It defined poverty as earning less than half of the average monthly income. Picture taken November 1, 2012
