Re: Chinese Daily Life Photos!

Not everyone was a happy camper in China yesterday!

Quote:
Pro-democracy protesters scuffle with policeduring a demonstration demanding China improve its human rights record, outside the Chinese liaison office in Hong Kong October 1, 2009 as China celebrates the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Scuffles broke out between protestors and police as hundreds of protesters took to the streets to urge Chinese leaders to improve human rights and release jailed dissidents as the country celebrated 60 years of communist rule. The demonstrators, dressed in black, and holding banners said the country had made little progress on rights and democracy despite its achievement on the economic and military fronts.

In the last three photos two protestors are taken down from the roof of a police van.

I knew I'd get a comment on that photo. Actually there's another photo of the greeting. They shook hands western style. As for the bowing I have no clue of that custom.
