Not sure if it is possible with the current software, but I think a useful tool for keeping the big "important" threads on track is to have thread-level banning. E.g. Those who continue to post off-topic things or derail threads can be banned from posting in that particular thread. This is less severe than a forum-wide ban, but allows threads to be kept on track.
Along the same lines, I think a ban from the website doesn't mean anything if the banned person can still view posts. I think banned people should have their IPs disabled from viewing posts, or images and image links.
Yes, that's what I meant. Another list you can look at towards the bottom to see the ranking of posters by the "likes" they receive...to know which posters to watch for when they are posting things. The more they are liked by the forum overall, the more I will look for and read their posts when they come up.
Maybe do both...ranking those receiving likes, and ranking those giving likes too.
I think the Likes (both ways) the number of threads added, and the number of posts tell a lot about the people on the forum and their overall contribuitions.
Anyhow, great work so far with what we already have!

Hi to whom it may concern or to the members that share my idea. I would like to suggest a change to the Thumbnail Icon for the Military History forum. As this is for the most part a Chinese military forum I thought a more Chinese pic would be more appropriate than a pic of Japanese soldiers. Here are a couple of pic suggestions.

Last batch I hope my suggestion will be given serious and fair consideration Thank You.

Any progress on letting us users get back at the list of forum stats below the normal list of the various main forums. Several months ago I turned those off for a day or two (top number of posts, top number of threads started, top reutations, etc.) and then found I could not turn it back on again. The option to do so had disappeared.
ok so I've tried to not post and only observe sinodefenceforum for these couple of months or half year. but can't stand how every thread goes off topic and derailed by completely irrelevant stuff. also all these newbies that know nothing but pretend to have connections and knowhows into the industry ending up to be complete bullsh##
where are all the old school sinodefenceforum that made it great, which even the pentagon used as a source of information not a source of another forum of fakes and misleading information.
