Forum suggestions

Would it be possible to add a forum on Information warfare? The Chinese consider it one of their highest priorities and I can't find a place to post here. Tried one on Chinese hackers and it got deleted for off topic/useless. Ouch! Just a suggestion.

Read the forum rules. This is military forum, With strict ban against all political aspects. If you'd bother to read all forums descriptions, you would have noticed, that the general military discussion forum covers the eletronical aspects of warfare. Hackers and other assorted criminal factors arent military related topics, therefore belonging to Offtopic forum if they doesent contain material that would couse political flamefigths.

Okay thanks, just noticed it mentioned C4ISR under General military and figured that was the place to post. I really do consider the topic of hackers to be military. With the concept of People's war, we can't consider the populace as non-combatants. They (the Red Hacker Alliance) has shown an ability to strike at the Pentagon and other US military information portals with surprising ease. Sorry for rambling, just wanted to give you my rational. Cheers.

On the new post page on the drop down menu towards right side of the bottom of the page would it be possible to have "mark as read" as an option? I don't read evry thread. Just certain posters post and specfic threads.

First time posting here so sorry if this is the wrong board to ask this. I was wondering why the website hasn't had any updated news on the homepage since October 26. So what's up?... Anyone know what's going on?

I am having big problems posting. It is taking about a minute for my pages to load up in this forum. and longer when I post photos. I have a DSL cable modem. And the picture pages are really "choppy" at times. I do not hot link my pictures.

Any suggestion would be helpful..

Are your problems specific to this forum or in general? If the internet connection is not the main cause for slow loading times, then I suggest you try cleaning up your unused or temporary internet files and history.

Try this program and use it from time to time when on the internet. I find it very helpful in cleaning and speeding up page downloads.

Don't know if this is worth the effort, especially considering our own parent site Chinese Defence Today is a reference source all in and of itself. But, given that we have accumulated a number of links to a number of good reference sources across a fair range of matters, maybe if we set up and maintained a Reference Links Library on our Forum, we could pull some of our more important source links together in one spot on the forum for members and visitors to have easy reference to. A one-stop source for basic references on subjects our forum deals with, so to speak. If it's worth the bother in the first place and serves a useful purpose for our forum members and visitors.

I start each business day with Sinodefense. It is my hope that the calm discussion of defense issues and capabilities can help convince the West that China is not a threat to the world because of it's rearmament--and help the Chinese understand that the West wishes China no harm.
With that introduction, is it possible to start a section on mutual issues that link the Orient and the West? (Examples would be free trade, the war on terror, the Olympics, the environment, etc...)

Also, the PLA has introduced two new-generation tactical truck families that ought to be added to the army transport pages. The first includes 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 trucks and tractors with new Euro-look cabs built (at least) as Shaanqi models. I can post photos if needed but Google the image for 'SX2300' and 'SX4400' and you will see samples.

The other family is the Taian vehicles that appear to be replacing older tank transporters. (See your own photos of the newest Type-99G MBTs--one of them sits on a HET-towed four-axle trailer. The HET is a 6x6 Taian tractor that appears to be replacing the older Hanyang HY-class.
Any chance of updating the truck pages to reflect these changes?

What is the purpose of the links for calendar & Blogs? The calendar is stuck on December 2006 and no one has a blog..

Yep..Right on that tool bar near the top of the page. Nobody uses them. See that tool bar under your user name??. Blogs and calender are to the left on that tool bar. Just click on blog or calender..you will not see much. The blog feature does work.
