However it isn't faceted -- there do not appear to be "facets" around the radome in the style of stealth fighters. What it features is a canted radome bulkhead, like J-10B.

Are you sure? Look at the photo and the video. The video @0:53 shows another angle and the shadow/shading on the surface seems to indicate it is faceted.

Are you talking about this one on the video?

I see no indications that it's faceted. I mean it might turn out once we get higher quality photos that there are facets, but as of yet from the two photos we see I don't think we can visually speculate that there are.

See the subtle shading difference between surface - I highlighted it in red line just for clarification.
Doesn't it look faceted?

Oh okay, you're talking about the overall nose itself, I thought you meant only the radome/nose cone having facets.

What you're drawing out are more like chines rather than what are commonly described as radome facets.
Maybe there are chines like you've drawn, but it could also just be the angle of the light and the colours of the aircraft's panels. We'll need clearer pictures from different angles to see.

I honestly think it is just the sunlight glint along that upper edge of the aircraft in a relative straight line that is giving the appearance perhaps of a facet...but I do not believe it is faceted.

I'm of the same opinion, but I'd like clearer pictures to fully confirm they aren't there.
The one reason why I'm a little bit cautious is that a few years back there was that line drawing of a stealthy fighter with chines that was attributed to J-11D, and it's not impossible for the actual J-11D to have inherited that particular trait from the initial proposal.

You mean this one?
I found this from somewhere years ago. I remember this is supposed to be the J-11 variant (although it looks more like F-22 clone).

Yes, that photo. It has been associated with SAC for a long time, and was also associated with the J-11D name in recent years.

i agree, i think it has the same bulbous radome of Su-27 but the painting gives an illusion, but that is my humble opinion
