in the j-11 page, theres a pic that says the ws-10a is a reverse engineer of the al-31 and lay have less thrust.

hasnt it been proven that the ws-10a is not a reverse engineer of the al-31, but a indegdous engine based on a western engine? and doesnt it have 13,200 kg of thrust opposed to the al-31's 12,800?

original numbers for WS-10A was 13200, but apparently 606 did better than that. the speculated numbers for WS-10A is 13800 N and 7.8 for T/W ratio. AL-31's thrust is 12500 N.

I saw some speculations like that on Chinese military forums too. However, I am still waiting for concrete evidence before I change my page. My experience tells me that you cannot always trust those speculations.

no, but what about the "copy pf al-31 part?" were sure the ws-10a isnt a copy of the al-31, even if it has laess thrust.

Anyway this forum isen't for depate, only to provide feedback, the WS-10 can be discussed more in the approphiate forum
