956EM,

basically mentionned a possible 5, 6 956 for China. They are upgrade to 9000 tonne in displacement and equipped with 16 Club-N missile launchers + 8 cell VLS SA-N-9 SAM with 32 missiles.

Talked about the improvement in PLAN's shipbuilding capability. Helped a lot by 052B and 052C's construction. The capability is much greater than India and Russia, probably almost equal to South Korea.

Also, mentionned the JiangNan shipyard in Shanghai which is 140 years old.

Also, mentionned the imminent relocation of JN shipyard to an area that's 5 times the size.

a possible successor to 052C is also being designed right now. possibly with 8000 tonnnes in displacement

Finally, it talked about Varyag being the first AC trainer.

A tank landing ship, number 926. The origin of this vessel is obvious - it is clearly a US WWII-era LST. At least 30 US LSTs were transferred to China immediately after WWII, mostly via the State Department. Of these, 11 went to Taiwan and 16 to mainland China following the civil war.

I think its used for reloading the SAM launcher. The 2 Luhu class destroyers have something similar behind their crotale SAM systems. I'd say it would have a detrimental effect on the stealthness of the boat but i suppose thats why there replacing the whole system with the shitl VLS in future 054s.

8 copies of this Twin hulls LCU already in service, more are expected. They are used by amphibious forces to transport equipment and troops to the shore.

No matter what the age of the picture i found a picture of chinas nuclear submainre in a submarine pen/cave.

China nuclear submainres are already top secret and finding a picture of the interior is top secret.

Why does the Yuan have such a large number of 'holes', I don't know what the proper term is, on its sides? As far as I know they have been dropped or reduced to a minimum on newer subs in other countries due to being very noisy.

Those holes leads to the main ballast tanks which when filled make the submainre sink and when the water is let out the submainre floats.

So basically the placement and size will affect the noise-level. But back to the number of them, there are quite many of them on the photo by tphuang earlier, wouldn't a smaller number (in theory at least) make the boat able to surface quieter, which after all could be usefull for a SSK in littoral waters?

there is only one wuhan class (33G), a special test ship modified from a romeo. its not combat capable and is classifed as an auxilary. i think the ship was made/modified in the late 80s/and early nieties.

I dont think so.

I always quickly told these two ship classes apart from each other, because the Udaloys has their quadrople missile launchers almost built in/covered in their superstructure, while the Sovermenny's have them mounted "in the open".

It probably depends on the progress of Yuan sub. I think the answer is no. The major reason is that China is really afraid of buying new systems that are not tested. That's why you see China buying 636s.
