I dont see anything different with the cokpit...but then again, I'm not expert on the Fishbeds...

a bit more curved than normal...at least compared to the early mig-21s.

I dont think the cockpit is curved. I think it is the back of the plane itself.

The J-7GB originated from the earliest of all Fishbeds. The earliest Fishbeds had the "lean" backbone. The Chinese received these, and the GB is basically a upgraded version.

The picture that MiG showed should be a later Russian Fishbed, told by the "plup" back. Maybe a bis.

The "plup" back wasn't the result of bad technology, but of an upgrade.

(Imagine here an emocotion where im banging my head against some mad bugger's wall....)

Wery nice example of how your posting account has increased to over 1700 when you contripute so much to this forum!!!!

Sorry if i offend you some how, but I just cannot believe this. How on earth did you thinked presentate the cockpit of early generation Fishbeds by showing pic of fourth generation one ???????????????????????????????

So if you dont have any clue of Fishbeds cockpits, buy a book of some sort. I learned it from books so dated that even Su-27 wasent mentioned. I cannot believe that 'fans' of chinese military dont know some of the crucial regocnition features of so important chinese military aircraft than J-7!! So if you didnt know, Chinese build J-7 have similar cockpit than in thrid genaration of Soviet Fishbeds, not like in early generation planes that it othervise present...

wow...I hope he got that...

Hey Gollevainen. Do you have any books to recomend about various planes of the former Soviet Union? I have an old one from 1982 or something, but that is somehow outdated.

Yes 1982 migth be bit 'dated', yes...but lets see...I havent got any 'own' reference book to soviet aviation, which i feel bit shame and I will buy one when I get to be rich enginerr and so on...I only have few pretty good overal encyclopedias to military aviation, biggest and heyvest beeing Blitz editions Encyclopedia to World aircrafts whit 929 pages and size of three ' bricks'

Ofcourse good start migth be Squardon/singal publications nice little flat books from all the basic soviet planes e.q older MiGs, Hind, Tu-16s, Sukhois FGAs...you migth not feel geniuos after reading them, but it gives you a good help to regonice the main variants of these basic types.

But i cannot remember names of those older books I used to borrow from local libaryes and Like i said, i havent got any newer ones, But if you go to Amazon.com and paste a search word of soviet military aircrafts, i think you can find something intresting.

I usually drawls after Russian sites about those Russian books....expecially those naval books, but would you send you credit card to them and wait the shipment...??:)

He's just posting a link! So people can see more of those designs. Advertising is like, "Go to my site! Go to my site!" He's just posting a link so people can check this out.
But I must say, beautiful paint job, I wish Pakistan could fo some nice paint jobs on their planes. Taiwan has good paint jobs on their planes. Just google it or something, or try f-16.net.

the airframe is the same, but there is no fire control radar nor any of the "excess" components found on a real warplane-the space is needed for precision flight instruments. If I'm not mistaken, the airframe is strengthened.

are you sure J-7MG's wings are different from J-7E's? I thought they didn't change the geometry of the double delta once the designs for E was solidified.
