this was pulled from the general thread under FB-6a

it says that china is changing the hull of bmp 1 to bmp3 and also uses the bmp3 turret.

another thing is that russian have a turret that is 3-4 times better than bmp-3, can anyone explain what this mean.

never heard of it.this kind of thing, the chinese source mostly is faster than the westen source. so, i really doubt the possiblity of this rumour as i would call it. the newest IFV is showing in that site is the new para IFV, already issued to the 15th airborne army. by the speed of type 86 being issued to the army, we have a reason to doubt that a new kind of IFV is in progress, so....as in chinese, our eyes are open and we are waiting to see.

by the way, the new para IFV is called ZBD-03. for my last post talking about the code system, ja it is OFFICAL. since this name appeared on an "inside material" from the 15th airborne army, it's "ZBD-03 para IFV's repairement and maintaince". SO, IT IS OFFICAL NAME. i can't show you the pic, because it's a bit national secret, sorry guys.

this is not a new ifv, it is a mere upgrade for bmp-1

Simple they have added Arena and modular armour. Proper Sights and thermal devices and maybe a dedicated BMS. Past sights on BMP3 were taken from t-80b and it still had a "frying pan" Ir searchlight.

sure on the Arena part? We know there is an "active" defense suite marketed by NORINCO, but to call it Arena?

OK people that are banal laser sensors (polish design) probably coupled with smoke DSG. can show you lots of those on PT91.

Thats nothing but a hopless atempt to bring modernise aging t72's (and poland has plenty of em).
There isnt anything special about it except for the indeginous ERA and the fire control system. Also it uses an exhaust gas compressor mainly to increase power for the engine, because it weights 3 tons more than youre average t72 and the old engine cant handle such an increase of weight.
