Ok here's the new thread for the quizz. So to refresh the newbies, here's the rules.

1. The one that answers correct has the right to post the next quizz.
2. The quizz can be recognition pic of military (related) thing, but not post something else, like a question or similar.
3. The posting the quiz needs to follow the thread so he can annouce if the answers are right.
4. If you know the answer, please dont post any links to verify it, it will ruin the fun of the others.
5. If the poster of the quizz doesn't annouce the correct answer after it has been posted or otherwise the quizz lags or you simply dont have any quiz in your mind, Gollevainen as the grand referee has the right to post new quiz.
6. Try to not enter into deep conversations over the quizzes, so that the thread wouldnt go off topic. I will allow little moving base in this, but so far we have managed to work this pretty well.

But Ok, here is the first new quiz:
Might be bit unusual, but as there was talks about naval jacks in one of the last quizzes, and I personally poses little vexillogy intrest, here's a naval ensign of some country.

Golly is right, that it's Soviet;)
It's prewar passenger hydrofoil cat by V.A.Gartvig. It was used in 1940 between Sochi and Sukhumi on Black Sea coast, carrying 130 passengers at 50 knots. With the beginning of war the engines were used for torpedo boats and the boat was destroyed in 1942 when Germans were near Tuapse.

Wait is that truck the next question?

If it is I would guess that it is a technical designed to hide its weapons...though I cannot for the life of me figure out why it has mattresses.

Is it one of the vehicles responsible for the downing of several US helicopters earlier this year?

It is notable that this thing was the only Soviet GLCM designed not for coastal defense, but as intermediate range ground attack missile. MAZ-543 TEL carried 6 (but you know this already ;)) kent-based missiles, each of 200kt yield. It was in service only for one year, and in the end suffered the same fate as BGM-109 GLCM.

Pointplank is rigth. This little Polish boat looked like little cut out Shershen, but it featured Gas turbine engines and other automation that eventually led to many trouples and unreability wich make Polish to dislike the desing. Also they were build in alunimium alloy that vibrated lot in high-speeds and the use of Gas-turbines made their range drop considerably from diesels.

It's Russian, it was actually built, it's pre-WW2
It's D-4 light tank of 1931.It had two turrets for 45mm guns and was expected to be able to travel on tracks, wheels and railway wheels. The expectations were never met and only one was built. The designer Dyrenkov was quite well known in 20-30s in SU for his light armoured trucks D-8 and D-12 as well as several other projects. He was a quite tipical Soviet type "designer" of that era with practically no technical education but with good knowledge of Soviet bureaucracy, like Grohovsky and several others less known.

This car is fantastic. I always like the small nation’s military developments.

It was produced with assistance from the US Army's Tank Automotive Command. It was based on the old US Army M37B1 truck. The US designed the vehicle itself, cut the armour and then shipped it for assembly in El Salvador.

Costas 240GD

As I recall it was designed in El Salvador and the armor was cut in the US, as the Salvadoreans did not have the necessary facilities.

Bell AH-1... but it looks like a AH-1Q, but it looks like it was fitted with a four bladed main rotor instead of the usual 2 bladed main rotor that is standard. The aircraft belongs to Bell from the markings, and the colour scheme suggests 1970's, which definitely means it is not a Zulu-Cobra, which is the only production model to be fitted with a four bladed main rotor.
