Everybody has got to see this movie!!
From a military watcher point of view there are scenes involving:
1.) F-22
2.) A-10
3.) AC-130 Specter
4.) Carrier battle group
It has the best action sequence I have seen in a movie. I mean there is even a Mustang vs Camaro chase sequence. Only this time both transform into robots.
Definately highly recommended!!!

My wife does not like Sci-Fi..so I will take a coupel of gran-kids to see it...
By the way the movie has premiered on US military bases in the ROK already...
I just read some of the "critics" reviews. And naturally most do not like the film. This is to be expected. Most film crtics do not like Sci-Fi or Micheal Bay the director of the film...So the movie is probaly full of lots of action...That's all I want to see!
Betcha this film is a sucess....A big sucess!

You don't see the A-10 and the AC-130 gunship in action in any movie often. There is also another a rare sight here---V-22 Ospreys.

Just saw the film today, and while there are only vague and passing references to "The Chinese", or, "The Russians", or, "The North Koreans" (:nana:), obviously, this focuses on exploits of the American military.
I just have to say, the battle scenes are very awe inspiring, with lots of the popcorn movie flash and glitz thrown onto various pieces of military hardware.
Gratuitous close-ups of the ever popular A-10's main cannon, Hollywood flashed F-22's and a few F-16s battling it out in almost ridiculous (But very "Cool"!) maneuvers, and plenty of explosions non-stop...
It wastes no time and jumps right into the action.
I second "IDont"'s opinion: Highly recommended for anyone looking for an action packed movie with at least a passing plot, and surprisingly good pace (Not too "action-packed" and not too slow either.)
Go see it. :) .

Omg i loved that movie to pieces!!!! So much that i wanna see it again lol...
Something else i realised...the movie really shows how much of a global reach the US military has...i mean, look at how quick they responded when that company of marines was under attack at that arab village...lol, i know its a movie and all...but still!!

i'd like to point out something here. special effects arent that special anymore if its in every scene, which is exactly what michael bay has done in this movie. i think the only scene withour special effects was when the dude was driving the chick home and that scene lasts for less than 3 minutes...see my point?..=P

This pretty much sums up my attitude towards this film.

This movie was a three hour recruting commercial for the US Army.
Also I thought it was interesting that the movie seemed to reflect on the immigration issue when several characters told the Hispanic US Marine to "stop speaking Spanish" rather vehemently.

I'm sorry you (and some others) feel this way. In all honesty, this was no "recruiting commercial", it was just action for the sake of action, using the military that has the global reach needed for the kind of scenes they wanted.
As for the Spanish, it was no immigration issue. Think about it logically in a military situation, what good does a whole speech in Spanish do if no one else can even understand it? (For example, that scene in the early part of the movie, where that odd scorpion robot caused that tower to fall, and the soldier asked him, "What was that?". He responded with tons of Spanish, and for what? Nothing he just said would help them in any situation tactical or otherwise. It would be like an english speaker constantly reverting to english even if he was attached to say, a Chinese team. That kind of behavior only jeopardizes lives.)
In short, it was movie with explosions for the sake of having explosions, and nothing in that film should be read that deeply with respects to real life events.
Except that scene which was an obvious mockery of Bush. .

The scene with AWACS & land station was very well executed IMO...half of the film seemed like a USAF epic IMO lol! Still very good film though!

Don't forget the F-18 Hornet people it also recieved a moment of glory in the movie, and if my memory is correct I think also a "Predator" UAV was also shown in it too in taking pictures of the transformers.
Movie was really action packed so I loved it. But one thing I didn't quite like is the North Korea thing. They are no way near in technology terms as to doing something like that, and besides they have an obselete military force. Russia and China yeah plausible to put into the movie.
Overall Thumbs up for the movie.

I think it is a fictional UAV based on the predator. It showed in the movie that the UAF has a jet engine (from the look of it, has afterburner on as well) where as predator is propeller driven. The Force Protection's Buffalo MPCV also had its first movie appearence.

saw it today, kind of interesting, the girl is extremely hot (best of the movie for me by far), dialogue was horrible as expected, nice show of modern gadgets, especially with the F-22, V-22, Predator, E-3 and C-17 (I think?)

A recruiting vid that disses the U.S government? Pretty contradictory to me.
Yah, overall it was great flic, a perfect summer blockbuster. The action had me going to the very end (which was short and a bit dissapointing). But since I'm a military fan, I loved all the depictions of hardware. Maybe too many jokes, but the movie was far funnier that I expected. Based on that clip of Starscream leaving Earth during the credits, I think it's pretty obvious that there will be a sequel. Apparently the guy and girl have both signed on.
Btw, add MH-53 Pave Low helicopter to the list, thats what Blackout was.

Just saw it... overall excellent
Good
- military stuff
- 80's nostalgia
- funny jokes / lines
- intriguing political commentary
- great special effects
Bad
- not consistent with Transformers canon
- robots not anthropomorphic like original show
- one scene with parents in Sam's room totally unnecessary

"Leave your brain at the door" movie!
Purely on action and effects... it was entertaining. Everything else... story, characters, plot points... meaningless and useless. The cartoon had more character in the Autobots and Decepticons.

Depends on one's definition of entertainment. I think story plays an important part and the cartoon at least had that. If I recall correctly, the decepticons were trying to steal Earth's energy to revive their home planet. In the movie, why would megatron use that device to change Earth's technology into decepticons when he was frozen back when there was no industrial technology on Earth?

GM pretty mush pored the cash in for the product placement... and every autobot save for prime was a GM on the other side Barricade was a ford and bonecrusher was a force protection Buffalo... hmmm seems strange no one at the Airforce base, Army fort, marine camp, police station noticed that they had an extra F22, MH53E , "Uber tank", Buffalo Mine Protected Clearance Vehicle, and shelby Cobra mustang...
