i would advise you that you shouldnt get BF2 unless u have a computer of 512 mb, 3.2ghertz , p4 or better, along with the latest graphic cards etc.
its only fun when you play online with players all over the world but if you have a crap comp then you'll have a high ping n most of the servers will kick you, a fact i found out the hard way..(i got the game but whenever i tried to get online they kick me so then i had 2 upgrade my comp to be able the play it---so the total cost of being able to play it was $300+..-.-")

I stink at flying aircraft so if I run out of ammo or become seriously damaged, I aim my plane on a direct colission with the enemy and at the last second, jump out and deploy my paracute. its quite funny, kamikaze without dying:D . thoe JSFs are stealth, some overload themselves by carrying weapons on the wing and internal. I enjoy driving armored vehecles like the TYPE 92 (WZ551). they are faster and have a more acurate gun then tanks, plus they are great for taking out helicopters. Anyways, is there a way to fly aircraft in single player? planes only exist in operation clean sweep for single player mode. in multiplayer, there are j-10s and j-11 in dragon valley.

took me a while to learn how to fly the planes, it's kinda easier if you get use to it. but it just goes too fast.....
they should of made flying the planes using the keybroad instead, like all other flight sims

True the USMC has the most powerful sniper rifle, I just hate the bold action! Takes forever to reload. Yeah Chinese helo sucks, the thing is huge.. open target for anything! J-10 wins the best fighter, that thing can move. I'm trying to stay away from helos right now... they are too hard to fly. The only thing they need for the Chinese is to put a damn scope on the Type-85 carbine instead of that iron sight :mad:

Personaly, it sort of irritated me that for the PLA they used the old AK-47 rifles instead of Type 81 or 87 rifles, it makes it a bit redundant when the MEC carries the AK-105. Personal gripe anyway, they are probably really good.

Right now I have BF2 Modern Combat, for the X-Box. Several things are different. The Chinese use the WZ-9 instead of the WZ-10, no fighters and the APC is esentaly a Chinese version of a BMP 2. They have the T-95 rifle for their assault class, but some weird stick-grenade as well. The Chinese Special Ops has the fastest reload, but their shotgun has the slowest. The worst heli in the game in some's opinions is the AH-64, the best the Hind, and the WZ-9 inbetween.

I prefer to play BF2 over most everything else now days. Considering that games like Halo 2 are so filled with idiots it drives me insane.

I have a laptop with a pretty lousy graphics card, so that pretty much puts me out of the running to play Battlefield 2...

I think 1942 was pretty well done, although I never really was a fan of the "take command points" genre. I've played a Battlefield 2 clone called War Rock, made by Korea, and although it's got its fair share of problems I see some of the features that BF2 also has, which make me really want to play it.

Some of those being the experience system, the ability to sprint... there was none of this in 1942. I appreciated that (according to my friends) the game was relatively balanced, in almost all aspects. What's particularly interesting is that the battle in the intro movie between US and PRC forces is relatively even. You don't see that much in video games, generally in those kind of intro movies you just see the US opening a can of whoop-ass on the faceless "enemies". Pretty interesting thing, probably having something to do with how games are more globalized nowadays...

i've played euroforce last night and i gotta tell ya, the EF is the shittiest plane in the game, its slow and always tends to bank left when i want to fly straight.imo the j-10 is probably the best jet in the game, it can out-turn anything, but the crosshairs are crappy so i'd advise noobs to stay away from it. it took me a while to get use to the controls for flying helos n planes coz its the exact opposite from BF DC and vietnam, and i reckon the maps are too small for planes to fly around, especially with the high speeds.

I am an avid BF2 player as well but I think there is a problem with all flying where the plane or heli just banks left even if you do nothing. It was practically impossible for me to fly a heli with just the keyboard though I managed to fly the planes. I would recommend you to try using a joystick, that helped me a lot.

To get enough money I had to go through all my old change and sort out all the quarters which took an hour. Then we rode bikes about three miles to the bank to get the quarters changed to cash, but we didn't have an accout there aso they would do anyhting for us. So then we spent about another half hour putting all the quarters into those little paper rolls of about 10 each, in the Bank of America parking lot. (This is after we left the orginal Washingto Mutural bank and went to B of A where I did have an account.) After waiting in lie for a while they gave us the cash whereupon we made another bike-journey to Circut City, our original destination. We bought it and then rode a few more miles back home. It took forever to install it. Then, just as I'm about to play it after all of that suffering, it doesn't work on my computer. I would have prefered to just have been in school.

I played that game before, but borrowed from a friend. It's much easier to fly planes with a joystick. The thing I hate about this game is that joysticks are not well integrated into the controls. You can't use the POV hat to look around, you're stuck with ctrl+mouselook.

The advantage of joysticks is that the throttle is more realistic. Keyboard mode, the throttle is modelled like a gas pedal, so you often go too fast if you keep holding it down but then takes a long time to spool up if you release it. If you have a joystick, you can maintain like 50% thrust so you can keep going around 300-400mph. A lot of stuff are whack, A-A missiles rarely hit enemies (hits friendlies more often), flares have to be reloaded, no CCIP pipper for bomb dropping. Overall, a very unrealistic game especially with the planes but I guess that's why it's called a game.

I'm just doubt why the PLA soldiers use AK as their standard rifle? Why not the 95 type? Did the designer just think that the 95 type rifles are not enough to equip all the PLA soldiers?
And I can't understand what're the Chinese soldiers talking about when they captured a flag, though I'm Chinese...

Yes...i rank higher than you!!! and i only played it for like a month or so...my best round was sevety something to six or seven, got a WZ551 and raped everyone.

Yeah, C4 is kinda annoying but when there's a tank bearing down on your CP it doesn't sound that bad.
L96A1 is probably the best sniper rifle at long distance but the M95 is the best at close range (when you can see the person in it's scope lines)
L85A1 is good when your a medic and you want to take out those pesky snipers on the roofs.. like RavenWing278 all the spec-op weapons in the game, they all lack the punch :o .....

Yeah, I did this a lot of times, especially in Karkland map. The first hotel spawn point in that map is always crowded. When I play USMC, I will play support class and rush to be behind the fence, then keep throwing grenade almost blindly.

Another way to play without skill is claymore whoring. Play snipers, throw your claymores at corners in those city maps. Many people will just walk onto your bombs, it is really funny play this way.

man... when my squad was trying to take this CP, this guys kept responding like instantly right after we killed him.... we have UAV and he was the only person there; it was rather annoying, but he got booted by punkbuster a couple of minutes later b/c his hack caused his ping to go over the limit..

you know what i love to do to piss off people... parajump on a carrier and rig the jets and helos with c4.. then just watch them scream at you as you blow them out of the sky... in BF2 there's lots of desprate people; one time a teammate and we took a WZ-10 and loaded it with C4, we landed on the carrier and just sat around watching... 4 people actually rushed up to it to fight for it, I mean come on a WZ-10 on a carrier... wow..

Yeah I've done it. It's just really hard with keyboard thrust because once you release the throttle key the engine turns off and takes forever to spool back up again. You need a joystick throttle to keep it at about 50% thrust.

sorry i meant the highest single player can go is a 16 map, you might be able to find some new maps which let you do more than 16

operation clean sweep is the only map i know that has jets in single player mode.. or atleast.. well the comps fly them

MAN i'm soooooo pissed at DICE.... a couple of days a ago i was hitting 19-21 kills with explosives to get my veteran badge BUT NOW THEY RELEASE THEY 1.3 PATCH AND IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET 20 KILLS

after an hour of just messing around in servers, i finally got the hang flying planes....
indeed the J-10 can kick any of the other jets @SS...
that baby can basically turn on a dime, it's so scary how maneuvarable and agile it is :D

does any one else here find that killing planes in local games is easier than on the ranked servers? idk why but when i lock on to a plane my missiles just miss them for no reason... they didnt deploy flares or anything...-.- i fire six missiles from an f-18 at a mig-29 n they all miss!!! bloody hell

I never fly planes in ranked servers, i'm still a noob with them....
however we i hitchride on a su-30, f-15, or su-34 i do see some amazing stuff....
at daqing oilfields this j-10 not only out flew missiles from a mobile AAA, but also stingers and a f-18 and the f-15 my pilot was flying
but i dont think the missiles in rank servers follow the plane much, all you really have to do is go afterburner and pull-up do a couple of spins and and they all missiles

I would like to see a fight in an office building as an add-on to Armored Fury in the Special Forces game. Like a skyscraper in Austin or NYC, where PLA or MEC special forces raid a U.S Command center, and have to take flags in three or four floors in a vertical way. Would make for some intense Close Quarters fights. Or a fight between the MEC and U.S Special Forces, where two office buildings are next to each other, and the only way to reach them is by car or APC through the parking garages or by helicopter onto the roofs.

Agreed! Though I think it would be more interesting if it is possible for infantry/specops to access the buildings by blowing up 2nd or 3rd story windows/panels and grappling their way up. Better yet, have sewage and ventilation access points.

I think it would also be fun to have a map where opposing sides fight for control of an undersea tunnel. Such as the Holland Tunnel in NYC or the Harbor Tunnel in Hong Kong. Ventilation and maintenance access points should also be provided. And they should add the ability to swim and do stuff underwater!

Cool idea and all, but considering that, going outside might cause a bit of a problem. The Helicopters would have dificulties staying within the boundries of the map, and you would have to give a good explanation as to why, in a helicopter scenario, why one attacker can not use the other buildings to get to a cheap snipers position to keep it strictly CQC. And of course, the problem with having the ability of going underwatter in an under-water tunnel, is to make a realistic scenario where the tunnel is not completely filled up with water.

However, as far as under water battles go, another cool idea might be a submarine battle off of Hudson Bay or close to the Deleware. Ah well.

yea but the medics are going to be like impossible to kill now if they hold a shock paddle anything short of a anti-tank rocket cant even kill them, and on no tank maps engineers are useless
the new map is pretty cool.... although the FAV's got some issuses...

I play Battlefield 2: Modern Combat--the PS2 version of BF2. It is not nearly as good as the PC BF2, but the one I have is my favorite for now. My helicopter interest came from BF2: Modern Combat (reason two why its my favorite). I hate it when the enemy helicopters just explode if there empty and you can't grab it on time:mad:. The tanks do the same thing. Its the music, map size, weapons, and vehicles that I really like about BF2: Modern Combat. I know BF2: Modern Combat so well, that I found some unlisted cheats to do! I win quicker now! I cant wait to get the PC BF2, though! It looks and sounds SUPER COOL! :cool:

I have noticed a few strange things about the WZ-9s in the Battlefield 2: Modern Combat game, as well as in the PC BF2. They are missing tailskids--not that hard to put in, The landing gear don't retract, and the rocket pods are not like the ones I've seen in the photographs. They are under the center of each wing. Also, the pilot doors look fake because they don't have any handles. Not verry realistic then:rolleyes:.

Now, I know its just a game, not be a simulation, but the creators could have put a little more realistic features in it, if it wasn't to much work put on them to do that, of course.

You know, that was my idea first; to make a futuristic version of Battlefield 2, but as usual, someone beat me to it. I had some good ideas for that game. I wanted to call it "Battlefield 3: Future Combat", untill I found Battlefield 2142. I hate it when that happens.
