So when was the first time you visited SinoDefence.com?

and how did you find this website? via search engine? or links from other websites?

That was in April at the old forum like so many others. I found that website because I wanted to find out about the PLAN Cv programme and the PLAN in general.

I've learned quite a bit since I've found this site.

I have been suffering with some tech problems at this site. I've lost a bout 40 post trying to post here. Could be a server problem..

I'm not quite sure when excatly i run into the website, it was before armytime, i was just getting newly intressed of chinese military after chewing soviet military out... (first time when china-bug bit me the dingfengs site propaply didn't exist...huitongs site was i remeber Jiangwei II where the newest things...) exspesially those new DDGs got my eye...i wandered from Sinodefence to the pakistandefenceforum (our forum didn't exist at that time) but that proven out to be a mistake, i almoust completely lost all of my interest and respect towards anything chinese (or pakistanese)...but after army the forum was formed and althoug i didn't join right in (the bad memoryes from my previous forumexperience still haunted me) but some artillery discussion was going on and i just couldn't stay out....

i was searching for taiwan-related articles on google sometime early the year, and there was that brainstorming for china vs. taiwan scenario (anyone still remember that? ;) ), so i found this site on google.

but at that time i wasn't really interested in posting anything. the 2nd time i came was in march (i think), when i was searching real equivalents of the C&C Generals arsenals (i registered in ezboard at that time).

Well this site listed everything, weapons, spec forces, future program, I kinda moved outta this site but it keep showing back in google search as I search for different things, so I stuck with this

i found this site in a chinese based forum, some guy posted it there in the middle of last year. i revisit it because i am looking for unbiased information. and, i post a link of this site as a reference when some guy looking for translation for chinese armed police. i joined the forum last month beacuse the topic 'the rise of china'. frankly, i dont believe china gonna be superpower what westerner experts claimed(include my lecturer).

Cannot remember exactly, but qiute a few years ago, found while searching for J-10 info, visit once a month mainly for aviation section. Have just recently joined forum, first forum ever!, but not sure if I will continue membership.

I appears that J-10 is one of the main reasons for people to find this site. in fact, J-10 and FC-1 have been among the top keywords that refers visitors from search engine to the sinodefence main site since the very beginning.

I am sure as time goes by, this forum will also establish its own reputation. This requires effort of every member. Sometimes you may find some posts or some members very annoying. My suggestion is not to judge a forum only based on few members. If you don't like a member, ignore him/her. There is also facilities in this new forum to ignore certain member's posts (add someone to your ignore list).

I found this site from somebody post a link at chinesemilitaryforum, I think it was around 2001. Visit twice a week ever since, just join the forum but too lazy to join the discussion.

i think i found sinodefence back in maybe 2002, when i was looking for new chinese hardware, can't remember what. but all the other sites sucked, and this one caught my eye, and i just had to bookmark it asap and come to it to see if there's updates everyday. back in the day, updates come a lot faster, so i checked everyday. this was all before the forum days.

i seriously don't know why there aren't that many good sites out there. out of all my infinite hours on the net, i can't seem to find a site that's comparable to sinodefence. other than the a bit slower updating, sorry dongfeng, but it's true. i love this site to death. i say we should encourage dongfeng to quit his job and just update this site all day :p jk jk.

Im a overal PLA fan and I would like to find out as much as possible about my Country's military.This way I could defend China when people say it is weak. A buddy of mine linked me when we were learning about our militaries in a current present day government role play. (I was China, and I was kinda proud to be China for the week the game went on.) We had to quit because two of our members quit. So yeah. Still, I like this site and check it out often, and just recently decided I wanted to learn some more about history from people who study it more then I do. (I love history.) But yeah, Sinodefence is awesome. (I love tactics and war too.)

I was always interested in the military for some unknown reason, one day i searched for China to be patriotic and i came here.

In March 2005, I was searching for articles on the new fighter jet that China and Pakistan had jointly developed. I did not even know its name.

So I searched "china pakistan fighter jet" or similar keywords until I stumbled upon sinodefence forum. That was the first time I saw a forum. A thread was discussing FC-1.

There was a tab called Post New Thread, and I clicked on it. It asked for a password and I typed something (I wasnt even a member, but a guest).
Then there was a username field. I thought what should it be ? Since I had posted about the LCA, I chose my username Indianfighter.

My first post was titled : "India's new fighter jet" or " India's new combat jet "
The message was " Hello. Recently India developed its latest fighter jet, the LCA Tejas. I think that it is great. What do you think ?"

Needless to say, that thread was attacked very badly.

Later I came to know a LOT about Chinese defence industry. I came to know that FC-1 is JF-17 in Pakistan, there is a J-10 and J-11, and SD-10 etc.

i came to this site before the old forum is even open. I think i was being linked to here by firearmsmod.net <---hl mod now called firearms2mod.net in their guns section. I think they were talking about the type-81 or 95 back then
