Ic, that is cool.
So you're going for the K-Mart gangster/Value-Village Thug look, I persume?
That syle is common among the Southeast Asian kids at my school.

Haha I hope I will still have time/money for shopping in college. Whats wrong with engineering? You're entering a high-end high-income professional field that will ensure that you live the good life in the future.

non-engineers will never understand the suffering we have to go through to get our degrees.. here's an typical week for me (actually it's my schedule for next week)
monday: 4 hrs of lectures starting from 9-2 with 1 hr break in between, then a 4 hr lab on data analysis.
tuesday: 3 hrs of lectures starting at 9:30 then 3 hrs of labs on heat and mass transfers
wednesday: same lecture schedule as monday then 3 hrs of lab from 2-5 on data analysis, then 3 more hrs of lab from 6-9 on reactor analysis.
thursday: same lecture schedule as tuesday, then 6 hrs of dynamic modelling process lab from 2-8
friday: same lecture schedule as monday and wednesday then two hrs of seminars from 2-4, and then some times a 3 hr lab from 5-8.. (and that's on a damn friday)
any other time i have left no in a lecture/seminar/lab i'm writing assignment/lab report/essay/presentation/exam/quiz/design project.. after that i get about 3 hrs of sleep a day. good thing i'm on uberman's sleeping schedule or else i'm really screwed.
Shhhhh.............

I wear either jeans or slacks. Never sweats.
I use my undershirt as topshirt most of the time, or with a sweater, then a water repelling jacket.
Brand is not a thing at all.

i'm only in third yr of my bachelar program. but then again i'm in the specialized computer process control program. the only one in the world actually. since my school's chem E department is ranked 6th in north america.. they actually care about their reputation... therefore chem E is the hardest department, and then since i'm in the eliteist program, the profs just love torturing us
i got plenty of sweaters here too, when it gets to -45C or -50C with windchill it's just not possible to go with a tshirt

Banana republic is good... very good. I personally don't have any of their clothes though.
Lately I've been indulging myself with Lacoste and Le Tigre.
Before I stuck with the bread-and-butter high school brands like Abercrombie, Hollister and American Eagle.

ya it is good clothes, that's why i need to get it.. planning to buy some shirts and pants at banana republic and mexx. the company i'm working for in the summer have a semi-formal dress code, but since its pretty much all engineers that work there, and they are all so damn rich, they pretty much all wear expensive shirts and pants.. so i have to buy stuff that's on a similar level or else when clients don't think they want to see some guy wearing "engineering ruined my life"

mexx
Haven't heard of it.
If you want something nice without spending too much, pick up a pair of khaki dockers from JC Penny for like $40 or maybe as low as $20 if you can catch them on sale and one of these (http://www.onlyinstyle.com/template/lacoste/LCS-Main.html). Preferably a lighter color like the light blue or yellow.

mexx is european, don't know if they have it down in the states, but they got some very good semi-formal clothing, formal clothing and casual wear. but it's pretty expensive.. but if i can catch a sale, they give 50% off...

Jeans and T-shirts nearly the whole year round, in winter I just wear a simple jacket plus a raincoat to stop the wind...
Mostly like to wear mountain-climbing clothes, they're comfortable, durable, and dry quickly. Very convenient for a lazy student like me.

preferably t-shirts and cargo pants, usually from dark blue to butternut (khaki).
And usually I wear silk shirts over my t-shirt, like the kind I wear in the picture i posted in my hoi2 thread.

The thinnest Columbia wind breaker available, over a black sleeveless muscle shirt, 24/7/365. yes, even when it's hailing outside. Because I'm a badass.
Talking about hailing, when I was a freshman and walking back from class on the friday before thanksgiving, I saw a car driving by really fast, then screech its breaks. It turned out to be my dad. He told me to get my ass into the car because it was hailing outside, and I was wearing a pair of Nike sports shorts and a sleeveless. When I came back, I discovered that I didn't bring back any shorts. My parents confiscated my shorts....
and yes, I'm an engineering student.
There is a lot of animosity from our CoE (college of engineering) towards LSA (School of Language, Science, and Arts) because, to be frank, most LSA students are retarded compared to us. Just look at your average polisci student...total dumbass.

Actually fried rice is full of sausages, chicken, and other fine high-protein meats. I also get 40-50 grams of whey protein a day.
And yes, by decent I was implying that I can lift more than you.

you know what they say: hot chicks can wear rags and still manage to look fashionable. The same can be applied, to certain extend, to men also. And of course one of the defining physical aspects of male attractiveness is muscle mass.
ok that sounds like I'm gay...but I gotta tell it like it is.....because i'm a badass. ULTIMATE badass.

Well, a large part of fashion is how the clothes suit the person/body. I was simply discussing how unfashionable it could be for someone slight and puny (like I thought Yue was before I learned about his bench press exploits) to try to sport black sleeveless muscle shirts.

that is so true, if some hot celebrity wears absolute crap, in a month it will be the newest fashion.. just because a celebrity wore it.. remember how the whole trucker hat fad started???
vincelee
03-20-2006, 12:51 AM
how did the trucker hat crap start anyway? I've always wondered. That, and Ugg boots. Oh, and Northface. I swear, 80 percent of the white population on campus owns NorthFace products, and 60 percent have both the bag AND the fleece.

03-20-2006, 12:59 AM
Whoa!
Do you seen the box titled, "Ads by Google," under the last post? They are able to somehow figure out that we are discussing fashion, and ads are automatically generated for companies that market high-quality clothing, like Armani:) !!!
Fascinating!

So what'd you bench? 245? In Nautica?
I have a Pacific Trail Jacket but I think I am going to buy a Northstar next time. The fabric is starting to tear........
I don't have much clothes. (I am not a girl. Clothes is not my thing.) So I end up wearing the same thing most of the time now. (Especially since it's so cold now.)
FriedRiceNSpice

No, not in Nautica. I wear basketball shorts and a T-shirt when I work out, sometimes a sleeveless tank top instead of a T-shirt.

when playin sport or weight lifting, wear what ever comfortable.

I agree!
Personally I walk around butt naked all day. :nana:
Not really.. I wear polo shirts & nice slacks. Everyday. I'm grown. I don't own any jeans. The dye makes my legs break out in a rash. And sense I'm almost bald I wear a baseball cap of some type most everyday...Except when I go to church every Sunday.
Since I was a Avation Ordanceman for 11 of the 20 years I was in the USN I can lift quite a bit of weight...Like a Toyota Camry or something.:) Honestly I don't know how much..probally over 300 in a bench press.
What an Avation Ordananceman? Pictures speak a thousand words..
The USN has loaded bombs by hand forever!
