Yeah, the PRC does operate a couple of Blackhawks, but I never knewed it was used in naval service...

What is your source of the submarine comparison picture??? Is it fan art, or something based on actual data? From the looks of it the song would go into the 5000+ ton dived range, considering that the kilo is 4000 tons exact. Interestingly, the length of the romaros mings kilos and songs are all pretty accurate.

Dam it you beat me to it...

Is that really the size of the 2208 FAC (I presume it's some kind of block 20 vessal?) The thing looks king of big for a 220 ton FAC as described by Janes. You also get the perspective of humans which really brings it in perspective.

The most striking features of this ship is the slightly elivated incline and the object placed between the pilot cabin and the presumed missile tobes. Also notice the surface/airial/scanning radar dome.....Wouldn't all these features really increase the RCS of the "stealthy" fac?

Could the incline be some kind of incline for kind of LY-60 Vls short-range air defence system?

The more pictures i get of it, the more un-seaworthy i think it is....

Btw, if you measure the length of the vessal, ~21.5 cm, and the height of the people, ~0.6mm, the length of the vessal comes to ~59.2m. Judging from this, and the fact that the 38m Osa I's were ~200 tonnes, wouldn't it be fair to place this ship more in the 400 ton+ range? Although it does have a very high waterline.

by the way, there are guesses the aircraft aboarding Varyag is most probably Su-33. this is possibly revealled by some young engineerers who doesn't quite understand Catch-22. and many people here believe it.

I really enjoy looking at your pics swimmer dude!

But as a real sailor when I see pics of the PLAN ships they look so clean. It's like they all just came out of the shipyard....That would bother me if I were the CNO of the PLAN. Those ships appear to be clean because they spend limited time at sea or some good PS work. Just my opinion

I really enjoy looking at your pics swimmer dude!

But as a real sailor when I see pics of the PLAN ships they look so clean. It's like they all just came out of the shipyard....That would bother me if I were the CNO of the PLAN. Those ships appear to be clean because they spend limited time at sea or some good PS work. Just my opinion

Well the 052B we know has been at sea and seen it use some of it's weapons... so it might be dirty...

Once again swimmer dude your pics are excellent..BUT that pic of the 171 looks suspicious to me. Why?? I have never seen an active ship at anchor with no crewmen on deck. Never ever. Does the PLAN have stealth sailors now?? Otherwise the pics are great as normal.

That's not all rust. that's fuel spilled amidships while performing a replenishmnet at sea..I like that stuff. That means dem boys been to sea being sailors:) ..Not sitting in port polishing brass. And the rest is rust..that's good too. That is another sign they have been to sea...

I would love to train the PLAN in, shipboard safety, flight deck operations, weapons handling and fire fighting....I don't think Uncle Sam would appericate it though!

She's getting washed? I am not sure, but it looks like they may be testing some kind of NBC (Nuclear/Biological/Chemical) decomntamination system. It could well be that they are just washing her, but from the way it is being sprayed down, I would guess it could also be a NBC decom system.

Peopleposter, That is diffently a USN ship. You can see USNS ships in the background. I'm pretty sure that's an Arliegh Buke. You can also see MK-41 VLS on the right side of the pic in the rear. On the bridge you can see the ships ribbons(awards)
